Prim junk all about....I would think SL would load and run more smoothly if all of this was cleaned up. It doesn't do any good to report it. How nice if one day the Lindens would have a Second Life Clean Up Day!! Sorry not sure if this is the correct forum for this post....but all the prim junk about is not caring and laziness on someone's part!

It might also just be noobs who aren't especially lazy but just don't know how to fix it. Things shoot away from them to gawd-only-knows-where, or they crash out of SL and walk away from the computer in frustration rather than immediately log back in.
Some may even think that ALL "abandoned" items are auto-returned/auto-cleaned after a brief period. This is what I thought at first. I used to spend my first days in world flying around on various jetscooter thingies, rides that almost without exception ended up in a spectacular crash where I went flying one way and the vehicle went off in some other. After the first few times I realized the item usually came back to my lost & found on autoreturn, so I stopped worrying about items I "lost" in the world. Imagine my surprise when a few came back to me many many MANY weeks later, no doubt cluttering up someone's private property in the meantime.
Probably are still a few scooters out there, someplace, with my name on them (face burns with shame and guilt). I usually wouldn't even know how to begin finding most of them. Or things that rocket away from me and go ... somewhere.
I don't know how to fix it other than trying to have a default 4/12/24/48 or somesuch hour autoreturn on just about *everything* not on the owners own land, then make the person who needs "non-owned" items to last longer than that, click a few extra buttons to extend that time frame.
I thought that was how it worked now but maybe autoreturn isn't the normal default... or a lot of places opt out of autoreturn...

I am sure I have done the same thing also. But these are junk prims---lots of them! I have filed reports, IM'd the owner of the land, IM'd the owners of the "junk". etc etc.... Do the Lindens have a magic wand? Prim Litter Clean Up Day! Poof!!! It's Gone!!??!! Probably not.....

llsetbuoyancy to 1.0 and bump it a little bit and it floats on and on forever... needless to say I found it eventually(the other sims didn't allow entry) after 2 weeks.
it was tempting to release a few on the mainland to see how far they could get, kinda like those one dollar bills that had a website where you could not where they've been and see where other people have checked them into the website.
