I finally got my credit card to verify in an attempt to get paypal up and running again with LL. Because of the pain it's been to deal with this mess I've downgraded my account to basic, at least I thought I had. It's been two weeks now and my account says "downgrading to basic" still. Anyone know how long this "process" takes? Or are they just waiting so they can try to charge me more money?

I assume everything takes longer since they transfer their billing department to UK including cancelations.
When I pay since the change it takes sometimes days or weeks before they remove funds from my bank.
They added extra charges but blamed my bank, my bank says its Linden Labs.
Just another buggy thing about SL sadly. I won't be buying any more Lindens because because of billing extra charges and the current system.
I have actually thought about getting rid of all my land but then I miss having a home in SL and I am not ready to call it quits because of my friends but I have come quite close reccently several times.
Here hoping they fix it before someone has to do something like what happen to like class action lawsuit they did against AOL.

According to the blog, the PayPal issues were fixed as of June 26th except for those of us getting the peculiar 'restricted' message...they say they're still working on that.

It's best to wait until you are very close to expiration to take this action, as you will be unable to purchase any land (yes, that includes private sims also) while in the downgrade mode.

Thanks for the info guys You may have rented land in a private sim while downgrading, but anything that you have to click "buy land" for is out of the question. Believe me on this one. Personal experience. Only sorted out with a phone call to billing to reverse the downgrade process. It almost cost me a great deal ona parcel, but an understanding landlord set the property for sale to me only while I sorted things out with LL.
