Can't tell you how many times I get tired of seeing stuff like this: From: someone [18:21] Lucky Chair shouts: Looking for a winner whose name begins with.... G.

Yes: Go find the offending object and mute the d**n thing.
This nuisance is one more reason why casinos next door are a *censored*.

I had a recent episode where a club on the next sim, every person there resorted to using shout for all their conversations, I IM'd the DJ and asked her to announce 'Please no more shouting, I can't follow chat in our own sim and the lauguage used is not flavourable'. I had a reply which said sorry, and some.. of the shouting stopped, my only recourse was to mute those which didnt comply with the request. It would seem a shame that some people either love the 'sound' of their own chat, of felt the need to use shout to be heard over the music???.... either way.. they are not what I consider part of a community and probably have childhood issues. Its a pity there isnt a 'switch' that could be used to confine chat to a single parcel.... but eutopia doesn't exist except on a wish list.

This nuisance is one more reason why casinos next door are a *censored*. Thanks. That did the trick. But I think "scripts" such as Lucky chairs and Sploders should be banned from shouting, especially since it is only geared toward that parcel. That's almost like spamming.

I have a friend who lives next door to a bunch who like playing fighting games, and any conversation on her land is constantly interrupted by
Laura combat system shouts: Windbox Pamplepipe has reset their combat system!
... which has to be muted, and then muted again when some other player turns up. Now why should that be shouted? It's quite unnecessary.

Writing a script which rezzes a temp object which then does the shouting would be a piece of cake.

of course if normal chat range was extended to something more reasonable such as 30m then less shouting would be needed in clubs, as a host in a club I know I SOMETIMES have to shout my annoucnements because many of my clients are outside of my chat range and there isn't a position I can stand that would put them all IN chat range. Make the club smaller? Yes that's an option but not up to me I have to work with what I have. I do try to minimise my shouts and only use if absolutely necessary as I appreciate the people next door don't care about what I'm saying. Another possibility could be that shouts should included in the "restrcit spacialised sound" setting on a parcel. I know it'snot technically sound but it's equally obtrusive.

There are devices on the market to manage your club chat. They take your sentence on channel 0 and relay that to other repeaters who then re-transmit your chat in that area of the club. If any owners are into being courteous to your neighbors this may be an option for you. Buy one or script one yourself, I am sure your neighbors would appreciate it.
