I'm still a relative newbie, but have now passed the 45 day mark. I've been shopping around for some time and am looking to improve my appearance. I managed to find a nice cheap skin to tide me over 'till I find exactly what I want. I'm now looking for hair. Has anyone seen any hair on their travels that vaguely resembles the style that I currently have, just better! (see pic on my profile). Hopefully if anyone has it won't break the bank as I currently have limited funds and no real income, 'till someone starts buying my t-shirts that is Any ideas and help are appreciated.

OO OOO OO i just recently found someone who does. But (alas) I'm at work and cant get you her info. I will IM when in game. Absolutely fabbo hair. Or if you're in game, search for Seren Pietersen and ask her about the Country Sunshine something or other hair that I asked her about earlier this week. (Sorry, major memory flaws) She can direct you to the right person as well. Beautiful girl hair as well as boy hair. Panache Island has some cheap flex hair in their courtyard (2 different styles all colors for 5L each) which is cool as well. I've worn Panache since I found it as a noob, until I found the other place. They've got some nice styles in the stores as well, but since you mentioned the budget, I figure that might help. Look for the signpost with the pics of the hair on them. Send me with a LM to your store, please (search, people, Abba Thiebaud, and just drag and drop into inventory slot on profile, it'll get to me when I log in). I've been looking for some cool Tees. Welcome to SL! Hope to see you around! AT

I get pretty much all my hair from Tami McCoy. She has several really cute short styles and is always coming out with new ones.

I'm not in world right now so i can't see your picture or profile... if you are a woman, Hairstyles by Tami McCoy has some gorgeous short styles. The best thing is their texture... it looks like hair. A good example of one is my picture in my profile (that one is called "Fast Times" . They also have men's hair there too, but i've never really looked at it much. Your post kind of hints that funds might be tight... Tami's hairs run around 250L. They used to be 350L and I happily paid that... they are worth it.

Perhaps this weekend though, since it's a 4 day-er for me. I'll prolly be spending plenty of time on this little addiction of mine. AT

Nuclear Boutique has some great short hair styles (not that I'm biased or anything), and several of them are on sale at the moment.
Welcome to SL and have fun shopping!
Feel free to IM me if you have any questions.
Best, ~Ari

http://www.slboutique.com/index.php?p=buy&phrase=etd&n=1&itemid=109701Have a look at this. Might not be what you are looking for but for L$10 it's well worth picking up anyway! I saw it on SLB, but it's for sale in world too, just not sure if it's at the the same price. There is a longer style available too that costs the same. Hair there is usually two to three hundred linden. I'm assuming this is a promotional price. If so it worked! It's good quality and I've purchased several styles from them.

Thanks to everyone, just 1 more question...
11-23-2006 12:12
Thanks to everyone for all their help, there's plenty to keep me busy shopping around for some time. Just one more question... In the process of shopping around for hair, and trying on various demos, it seems as though I may have made my avatar a little on the small side! I followed some instructions to change my head shape at Tami McCoy's and I ended up with a rather larger than expected head. Definately out of proportion with the rest of my body. Also it changed the shape of my face too much and I stopped looking like myself . Obviously I quickly reverted. Is all hair made so that I would have to edit my appearance in this way or should I be able to edit the hair to fit me? If I have to enlarge my avatar to get hair to fit me better is there a way to scale my whole body up in proportion, or do I have to do each body part individually?

If you know how to do it, you can stretch prim hair, however it may not look the same. If you get a copyable and modable version of a hair, try stretching it to fit your head. Wear it, right click it, click edit, tick the stretch circle, and you will see white buttons to pull out (to stretch) or push in (to shrink) the hair as a whole. DON'T do this on non copyable prim hair, because if you screw it up, you really don't have any recourse. You can also try talking to the seller and see what they can do to accomodate you within the available hair they have, by modding it before you get it. AT

Great stuff Abba, will try the shrink thing next time I'm in world. Didn't think about contacting the seller, could be worth a few extra L$ to get it already modified.

Hi I'm the opposite, with my head being a little on the large side, but I get my hair from Gurl 6 who supply three sizes with their styles. Most of the styles I've looked at there are under $L200. Hope this helps

I agree with GuRl 6, the latest fashions are 199L for a pack of 4 like colors, come in 3 sizes (which works great when I need to change avs around for fun) and have a HUGE selection. The newer ones are gently flexi, which to me looks more natural than every piece flexi (a gentle wind never blows around ALL your hair, the full flexi looks like you are in front of an industrial fan).
If you are looking just to get out of what you are in, she does have a freebie box as well.
All hair is moddable and copy, so if you get hers, make a copy before messing around with it so it's not ruined and you can't get it back.
There's also some 'static' (no flexi) short hair styles that are in the discount section for like 99L.
