Teleport Stuck

I went to a friend of mines property earlier today, and have been trying to teleport out now for about an hour. Every place I try to teleport to, it wont let me. I've tried relogging a couple times and still can't get out. Anyone know why this may be happening?

The same problem that is affecting the sims to be down is -thought- to be the cause of the TP issue. Others are saying it's a result ofthe high packet loss. Real reason? No idea. Your guess is as good as any at this point.

Things to try to help your TP.
-Remove high-prim attachments (guns, jewlery, hair) and any script intesive HUDs (ie Scanner/radar HUDs).
-Turn off Local Lighting in Preferences (ie set to Sun&Moon Only). Some graphics cards are hit harder by lighting than others.
-Try to "time" your TP to be in-between packet loss spikes. (ie TP jsut after the red bar of packet loss goes back down.)
-Fly up to a hieght where there are no other prims to see, as to lessen rendering load.
-If you are repeated stuck in a sim, sometimes walking to the enighboring sim helps. After a simline transition, sometimes TP work a bit better.

Good luck

Dude, you are a true and good friend, and I love you like the brother that my mom claims she never had, but you are in fact acting like a flaming douche on white toast with a side order of dickknob salsa..maybe you should reconsider this course of action and we go find something else to do.

This stupid problem has been going on now for a while, it's nothing new. I've seen countless complaints about it with nothing being done. It's very frustrating and a time wasting process.
Last week I called "Live" help and was told to take off all attachments and maybe, maybe that would help. Yeah, right, that's all we want to do is strip down before every tp. Like I had said, maybe we should all run around naked then maybe we won't have this problem.

It's just another fun day at sl, courtesy of the sl tech team.

Silly, you are assuming that it goes down sometimes :)

I hadn't read your post Jessica.

I know you're being helpful and that's really nice of you to help out. But why should we have to go through this ridiculous process of stripping down hair and just about everything else or walking over to the next sim just to tp out? Doing all this even once is bad enough, much less each time you need to tp out.

This is not the way the tp process is suppose to work. Why doesn't sl and their "experts" simply fix this constant problem already? That seems to be the problem here, problems don't ever get fixed in a proper time frame. Seems attendance in sl is more of a priority then constant troubling problems that affect us.

Cherish, before you enter our password, change your preferences setting to log you on at home. That gives you at least one other option as to where you log on.

Because they're ... letting us build stuff, and script, and sometimes when you set a thousand monkeys with a thousand boxes of tools into a parking lot filled with a thousand cars, you can't always predict what will happen?

There's an easy solution to this: no prim hair, no bling, no attachments, no scripts except the small handful they give to us to turn lights on or off, no building, no animations let alone animation overrides...

Its like that old techie joke: faster, better, cheaper: pick two of three. I've seen more response and interaction from the second life support team than I saw in years of Everquest or Star Wars Galaxies. I hate to sound like a cheerleader but so far I've liked everything I've seen so far - including a very active and technical participation in the building forums, for example.

As for what's causing it ... usually in second life its been a network or a database issue, meaning we sit on our hands and wait for them to figure it out. Of the two, its usually it is a database issue, because they cannot fully predict the effect of load on a recent change. As a developer myself, its really hard to simulate load, especially with so many variables - from personal experience what happens is you just have to prepare for a long day or a long week after a major patch is released.

http://blog.secondlife.com/2006/11/11/teleport-issues-and-sim-crashes/

It's grid wide and will not be fixed this evening. I'm not even going to log on tonight. I'm afraid of that Linden balance issue.
