I know this may be a stupid thread but People in Sl have me concerned. Everyone is telling me different thing and I am confused. I NEED EVERYONE HELP..
Is any one having problems running SL on vista and what do I need to make Sl run well on a laptop.. I know the minimums but what makes it run well???

I run SL without problems on an HP Pavilion laptop.
Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit
Intel dual core 64 bit processor
Nvida 7600Go 256 MB
2 gigs of system ram
I can run with all sliders maxed out.
Just make sure your drivers are all current, and unless you have ATI graphics, shouldn't be a problem.

I use ATI graphics in my HP laptop without a problem, just make sure whater you get has a graphics chip that is supported and has the latest and greatest drivers.
before i made my purchase, i loaded SL on a thumb drive and asked the saleperson to let me make sure it ran ok on a demo unit.
As a note both BB and CC stores let me test it out, funny that C***USA didn't and said I could return it if there was a problem (less 15%, pffft..) imagine that!

I'd suggest keeping an eye on heat levels in a laptop that runs SL. If the particular laptop doesn't evacuate hot air well enough, the heat could degrade components over time--especially batteries. There are various utilities that monitor heat.

Very true, I use a 3 fan cooling stand, runs either from usb or electric. Makes a huge difference.
