I've created account on Basic, logged in into some kind of an island, my body and stuff loaded fine, I try to turn around while things are loading around me - computer crashes. I have very powerful rig, so there is no fault in my computer. I then read some web site, upgrade to premium, load the game and this time I get into Tutorial land. My head loads and thats it. After the loading bar - Loading Clothing - I get error messages in right corner - Body Parts Could not load please contact vendor that you purchased it from. I start cliking ok and same with Clothing. What the heck is wrong? Can someone give me any help in this?

Maybe its because I have SLI configuration? I tried reloading the game - without reinstalling and it didn't help. Should I try full reisntall? This game is really amateurly coded. I think if there was no real money involved, nobody would really play it.

If I can't get support I want my money back. I didn't pay 10 bucks to look at my hair without body or clothing. Every time I try to wear something it gives me error message - that cant' wear object - clothing or body parts are not loaded. What's up with this?

Please give me some clue what to do. In the meantime I'll try to switch from SLI back to one card and try again.

well its fine with SLI as a lot of people here use SLI and "bleeding edge" technology including myself

the loading of body parts this has and does happen you need to logout and try again its mostly asset server stuff and half the messages you get dont actualy "Mean what they mean" due to the asset server issues which are being worked on

the invisible person thing is common have you switched to the first look viewer at its the new version but still in beta and not released that will likely solve 99% of your problems

the other the clothing etc you should get that stuff "bacK" next time you login (although I do seem to remember walking around invsible for a day on the old viewer at one point however this was client side issues and corrected with the new viewer )

hope that helps not much else to say yes the game is buggy but I still like it hehe its the only place that doesn't hand me a recipe and tell me to collect 500 wood 300 iron and 350 leather and click the "make" button to create an object identical to the one everyone else has

This game i have to do it all myself which is why so many people like it your not restricted to a small inventory of company generated content with a set recipe that you have to make that way or sit and kill 200 dragons for the belt or some such nonsense :)

and i can build a castle and tomorrow tear my castle down and build gas station any shape any size (well kinda depends on the land you own) and colour any configuration

no other game boasts that so before you throw it in the trash try to get past the viewer bugs you might like what you see at the other end :)

and no money isn't the driving factor for a lot of people that is a myth and media hype if you came here just to make money stop look around and ask questions as the average user does not make a dime hehe. The best content in second life is created by people who earn very little from it or possibly nothing from it not to mention some of the best content around is completely free :)

take care endure and go to the linden blog and download first look viewer for starters half your problems will likely clear up :)

Arnold

Welcome to SL. Hang in there, it'll be worth it.

I endorse almost all of what Wilhelm says, with one exception. Try the First Look viewer by all means and I hope it solves your problems but if it doesn't, don't give up. First Look is a beta product at present, still being tested. New versions are released almost weekly. I have used it pretty much exclusively since it was first launched and until last week I loved it. Now, with the latest release, it is unuseable for me. Invariably either it will not connect to SL, or if it does it crashes within 3 minutes of launch. I'm back with the standard viewer which is running fine. That said, I expect there will be another release of FL in the next few days which might work fine for me.

That's just my experience, and I hope if you do use FL, your experience is the same as Wilhelm's, but if it isn't, keep trying. It's worth it. Tens of thousands are logging in each day, with all sorts of equipment from bleeding edge like yours to bleeding ancient like mine!

I'm sorry this does nothing to help you out, but hopefully someone else will be able to help. Maybe a post in the technical forum, with a full spec of your system (especially the graphics) might get the answers you need.

By the way, being premium makes no difference at all.

Keep trying!

That your computer does not conform to the system requirements is not LL's fault. Poor customer service, however, always is.
