Many of us cant log in it says SL is down cant believe i pay for a broken game...sighs
however on the front long in page it says SL is online
so Lindens what is the story here its sunday the 11th of feb at 154 in the afternoon

What's your question?  Seriously though, it's Sunday. Unfortunately it happens most every Sunday for the last couple months. Hang in there. It should settle down soon

It's online...............I'm in world right now. But it's just barely there............too many concurrent users. Last I checked (5 mins ago) there were 31,500 online. SL's asset servers break down with high loads. They are gaining on it though..........last Sunday when it was around 28,000 they went down completely. But SL is still up and running...........if 31,500 users just standing around not being able to do anything is called running. |

yep takes a long long time to get in today ahh the good old days when you used to think wow 5,000 was way to many durning day time lmao an 10,000 at night was over board remember days when you come to tp home an it was already rezed? lol

I'm headed for fraidy hole............32,000 plus!!!!! I'm going to stick around to see just how high it gets before I crash!!! I wanted to tp somewhere to see if I could...........I couldn't LOL I can walk...........but when I stop I keep going for a few seconds. It's fun LOL And I'm the only one in my parcel.......and I don't see many green dots at all in the whole sim!! But then it takes my map about 5 mins to show anything but blue back ground. Maybe I should wait 10 mins LOL It's a milestone as far as I know.................let's party LOL But where? Who's got a whole sim for us to TP to that only takes 10 attempts? |

That is a more or less paraphrased quote that I've read numerous times. LOL I agree, with you.......but someone will come along and point out what I just pointed out and attempt to such the conversation down. It ain't gonna happen...........we all know it. But is should. I'm not to discuss it anymore...........I'm getting a bad rep for my thoughts and ideas as it is. I'm not a disagreeable person, but some here in these forums think I am. |

Yeah.. if it were that simple, they could, and SHOULD do it. Unfortunately I don't think it would make that much of a difference. People sitting in camping chairs don't put all that much of a load on the asset and authentication servers, which seem to take the brunt of the hit when the concurrency gets up to peak numbers.
That being said, I do agree that camping is a load problem on the grid. I just think there are more intricacies involved than just avatars in sit poses/animations.
And Peggy, for the record, I don't follow along behind you looking for ways to devalue your reputation. I agree with most of what you say.. you have valid points and it's clear as day that they need to be addressed. I just find myself often disagreeing with your delivery, and your choice of venue.
Now, let's all get drunk and play ping pong!
