How do I cash out my lindens?

I see how to convert Lindens to US$ in my account on the LindeX. Can I then transfer the US$ to my paypal account?

What do you all recommend for getting the best exchange rate?

LL charges $1 (regardless of the size of the transfer, so wait til the money builds up and do it in one go) to transfer your USD to paypal. Note that this takes a while though, so don't expect that you'll get the money right away. The transfer from LL to paypal takes like a week, and then paypal takes a week to transfer the money to your bank account.

To get the best exchange rate make sure to do a limit sell, not a market sell. If you turn on the advanced options in the Sell page, you can set what exchange rate you want to sell at. This is using LindeX. There are also currency exchanges run by SLX and Ansche; I don't really know anything about them.

Look at what others are selling for. If you have plenty of time you can sell for a better rate than if you need to get the cash in a hurry. An other consideration is how many Lindens you're selling, the more you 're selling the more difference that 1 or 2 L$/US$ will make.

So its a balancing act like any trade is. Better return will take longer and may never go thru, faster, surer trade will give less return.
