Building with a friend?

Hey everyone,
Mistress and I are trying to retexture one of her houses that she has permission to mod/copy on. She gave me the textures she was textureing with and asked me to help. So I go into edit mode, am able to click the linked section, but when I go to tick select texture, and click on an idividual prim face, the whole thing deselects. I have permission to edit her objects, so I thought this should work. Any reason I can't help texture her stuff? We even tried setting it to group and it wouldn't worked. We checked if it was locked and it wasn't. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Or even a work around.

Did you make sure the items aren't locked?

Yeah, we checked that. Still deselects when we try to select texture

Try unlinking the prims and editing the texture, and post what happens.

Did you uncheck the option 'Select only my objects'?
