Hi I know you can not change your last name in SL but is there anyway you can change your first, i am sure i have see some people do it but dont know if possible, any ideas ?

Hi there,
The simple answer is no. You cannot change your name, unless you start an entirely new character.
The Lindens really should make that far clearer in the sign-up process.

Bright big red letters that state: Because this is the only time you get to pick your name, please pick something that won't totally embarrass you after about five minutes. They could do like some other games: CoH allows name changes, but it's 9.95 USD to do so.

I seem to remember LL having at one time a program where you could BUY a custom name for some ridiculous price, but looking thru the Support Center I see that this is no longer being promoted. There was a big stink about it when the Suicide Girls were wooed into SL and all given the last name Suicide. Amusingly, the Support page mentions now that this service is reserved for educational institutes and From: someone Also, at our discretion, we make allowances for those with a real-world, professional reason to assert their actual identity inworld. For example, Suzanne Vega. So mostly, if you're not a Suicide Girl, the dean of a college, or Suzanne Vega, you're out of luck. |
