Quick and easy question- aside from getting Lindens from someone else, working like a dog camping, doing a job, or any other in world Linden making procedure, is there any way possible for a person who has "resident no payment info on file" able to purchase Lindens any other way? Thanks for your time. I wanted to know because there is someone who has a lot of Lindens- but it says resident no payment info on file- and I wasn't sure how this could be done.

Why yes. If I'm understanding you question, go to the Community link above. There should be a blue sidebar about halfway down the page where it says "Buy L$." You get a series of pages asking how much (in L$ or US $) and then it will ask for credit card or Paypal info if you've never bought before. You are limited at first as to how much you can buy, but I don't know if that holds true for the length of time you've been a resident. You will then become "payment info used" status or whatever it's called. Probably someone has already answered this in the time it took me to mull it over. [Edit: wow. I guess not.]

... but then they would have payment info on file.
SLExchange comes to mind as an alternative. The only other way I can think of is to buy them from another resident by sending them money (typically Paypal) and they give you L$. However, this usually is a good way to lose money and LL will not intervene.

Is there a limit to how much one avatar can just give to another, say, an alt?

From: Bodhisatva Paperclip Is there a limit to how much one avatar can just give to another, say, an alt? Nope. Although if you give a *huge* amount of L$ to an alt, like in the hundreds of thousands of L$ or more, LL might question the transaction the first time or two. Several LL business owners have mentioned that they routinely transfer large amounts of L$ to their alts as holding accounts or to manage land purchases. SLX allows you to purchase L$ even if you are No Payment on File. But generally speaking, if you can meet their methods of payments, you can also meet the ones for LL, so there is no reason to remain in NPoF status if you can manage to buy from SLX. The most common way for a NPoF account to obtain L$ is for someone's main account to purchase the L$ (or earn them), and then transfer the L$ as a payment to the alt account that is NPoF. Personally, I have payment info on file (or payment info used) for all my alts. But aside from a single small purchase at the time of account creation, they never buy L$ after that. My main account sends them all they need, from the profits that I earn from my in-world business efforts.

I have an alt with no payment info on file, and I just pay him regularly! I tell him not to squander the money, but he goes ahead and does it anyway

If you buy fraudulent Linden it can be taken back or banned. All the linden we sell pass a Second Life API fraud prevention system, meaning the Linden you buy is safe & guaranteed

People who have bought on eBay have been banned and had their funds seized for having illegally obtained Lindens, as a quick Google search will reveal. It's my understanding that Linden Lab has a tightly restricted list of authorised Linden re-sellers - as far as I know, there's been no relaxation of this policy, but perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I can comment. All I can say to the OP in the meantime is 'buyer beware'.

This person could well have an alt with payment info, bought the L$ and simply transferred them to the avatar with no payment info on file. Having payment info on file is far simpler than all of the suggestions in this thread.

there is also a different way for europe people, namely dutch, german and belgium atm to use internetbanking to buy lindens by use of dutchx I am dutch myself and i use this. main reason because internet banking is easy to use and i dont have to pay a creditcard company for a credit card to use only for sl i only have paymentinfo on file because i one time used paypal because there are moron landowners who use the payment info thing as a way denay acces on land. Not going to place names her but who is so stupid to do that while having a store
