Who needs to search or teleport? WE HAVE VOICE! Yay! The utter joy, the glee, the fun! 3D internet, here we come!
* Tencent has over 250 million active users (!!!) in China and generated $100+ million in Q1 2007, 65% of their revenue comes from virtual goods and services.
* Nexon (MapleStory, weird anime world) generated $230 million in 2005, 85% of which came from virtual item sales.
* Habbo Hotel (awful 2D world with the realism of Lego figures) has over 75 million registered avatars in 29 countries, 90% of their $60 million+ yearly revenue comes from virtual goods.
* Gaia Online (another weird anime thing) has up to 80,000 concurrent users all around the clock and does over 50,000 person to person auctions a day - making them the 3rd largest auction site on the Internet. Millions Of Us, who previously only worked with Second Life, recently formed a partnership with Gaia Online.
* IBM is currently expanding from Second Life into the 3D worlds Entropia Universe (500,000+ real users, not only on the paper) and There.
* Finally, there's Second Life. A mere 26,000 users online at the moment. Used to have some business. Now it has voice chat. Oh, and let's not forget about the postcards, those can be fun too.
