i hate how when you upload a texture and your trying to rename or edit something in your inventory, then all of a sudden it cuts you off and automatically scrolls down to the texture folder. why does it do this? can this be fixed

from Feature Suggestions to Resident Answers. this sounds like something the community may be able to help with, as such i'm moving it to where you can get said answers. if an answer is not found, perhaps a little brainstorming will result in a solid idea for a fix and it can be reposted as such in the Feature Suggestions. hope this helps!

the inventory moving/changing focus/opening folders when it wants to... drives me crazy ive lost folders in other folders but have no idea where cause the inventory focus changed on drop.... ive been in SL 3 years and have not ever found a way to stop this its like the inventory has a mind of its own. its not like a file tree at all im hoping LibSL will figure some thing out someday cause ive given up on lindens fixing stuff -LW

I find that opening a second inventory window and placing it right next to the first window cuts down the number of times this happens as it is much easier to have the destination already in view and moving the item across to it rather than scrolling up or down in the one window. *Phew.... long sentence without commas there*
It doesn't eliminate losing files completely, but helps to cut it down. I'm just thankful that the search facility enables me to find where the folders/files get dropped when I do lose them.

From: Lightwave Valkyrie the inventory moving/changing focus/opening folders when it wants to... drives me crazy Hate it. AN UI SHOULD NOT DANCE UNLESS THE USER SAY TO DANCE. NEVER. Spatial relathionship is lost. Target escapes mouse. Things are not where the user thinks they are, something other is in the place. Inventory's folders loose their closed state and reopen as mad. Horizontal auto-scroll hides the disclosure triangles. Please Linden, make the spring folders and autoscroll delay settable in preferences with 0 meaning never.

I think sort-by-date and renaming things in the "recent" area of inventory helps the rename-new-texture problem.
