Weird Shadows (on face)

I see lines on my lips and I'd like to know if it's the particular skin I wear, or something others see on their own lips. This picture was taken using the RC, but the lines show up in the regular viewer, too. They appear on the mid-day and midnight settings. I love this skin, but it bugs me enough that I may just get a new one. Should I IM the creator, or is this normal for light lip make-up? I don't like dark lipstick...

(sorry for the huge pic, wanted a close-up on the lips)

That's one of the areas that are really sensitive to shapes. I have a skin that does the same thing with my usual shape, so I keep an altered face around for when I want to wear it.

That would make for a really weird RL conversation.

Thank you. :)

I should have thought about the shape. I guess since it was only the lips it didn't even occur to me.

And yes, LOL. That would make for a strange convo in RL.

the lips looks fine to me

what I hate about shapes is what it does to the nose area :(

if you flatten / reduce the puffiness / reduce the size of the lips it will minimize the lines.

This would be one of the reasons people wear face lights.

Thanx for peeking on my fat lips, lol.

I tried reducing them to the point where I looked completely different and the lines didn't really go away. I think it has to do with the fact that I have fair skin and am not wearing dark lipstick. I do have a very subtle facelight which helps during the mid-day settings.

One good thing about fair skin, your face doesn't completely disappear in shadows at night in windlight.

@Rhao, I know what you mean about the nose... I guess what I should do is stop looking at my own face so much, hehe.

Yes, but those beautiful lips have probably been getting a lot of kissing and that just might be why they are a little puffy. ;)

All I'm seeing is normal texture rendering. The only lines and shadows I can detect are those painted on the skin to give it realism. The lips are very detailed. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with that skin. If you want to make shadows disappear, get a face light. But honestly... there's nothing wrong or out of the ordinary about that image.

GF...you just gotta step away from the mirror and enjoy ya'self. lol

Am I the only one seeing the two grey horizontal lines, one on the top part and the other on the bottom? Not exactly shadows, but more like a pencil mark...

LOL That is very true. Who the hell would zoom in that close except me. I will now officially stop looking and tweaking. :o

There is a very, very faint horizontal line across the center of the lower lip - parallel to the line separating the lips. That might be what the Isabeau is talking about - not sure though.

I see the lines. If a face light does not remove it do you think it might be that the lips are slightly transparent and the system skin is showing through? Maybe adjust your makeup settings in the appearance tab.

Good suggestion. I popped in quickly to see, and I wasn't wearing any lipstick (system skin).
The lines are much more apparent inworld than on the picture. I'll just have to learn to live with it...

I thought others would have seen this on their own skin before, but I guess it must be this particular skin and how the transparency is letting through the contour of the actual lips.
