I've been told by a technologically astute SL friend that rezzers really screw up a sim. A new neighbor in an adjoining sim has about 12 cloud rezzers going full-time. How can I find out:
A.) If his sim and my touching sim are on the same server?
2.) How his sim and my sim's performance is affected?

[ctrl]+[shift]+1 gives you a ton of performance info on the client as well as the sim. Try that!

Wouldn't cloud "rezzers" actually be generating particles? Particles are a purely client-side effect and have virtually zero impact on sim performance, although large numbers of them can strain a less-than-cutting-edge client computer and cause framerates to suffer.
edit: that said, I personally find the common cloud-emitters to be ugly and yes lots of them in my view probably causes my framerate to dip. But that's a completely different thing from sim performance. Perhaps if you mention it politely the owner would be willing to reduce the number or something.

Waw! Rezzers do that? Some months ago, I made a ball game that rezzed balls every 10 seconds. until the day I deleted that, it rezzed more than 500000 balls (I placed a counter in it). The balls were physical/temporary objects. I noted no decrease in the sim performance at that time. I said this in a purelly anecdotic way.

If his sim and my touching sim are on the same server? 1) Get Max Case's 'Registrator-Tron' (free) in-world at secondlife://Green/190/170/22 2) Wear it in your own sim, then fly across to your neighbour's sim. This will register the sims with Max's Sim Neighbour's website, which.... 3) ...you should now visit at: http://neighbours.maxcase.info/ and search for one of the sim's in question. The other sim will show up in the result if it's hosted on the same hardware. From: Rocky Rutabaga 2.) How his sim and my sim's performance is affected? k, that's the bit I'm not sure about.

Or one can simply turn down the max number of particles on their own client in preferences.

A lot of particles will affect your computer clientside. It doesn't matter what sim you are in. If you see it, you are affected. Of course, you can just turn down the number of particles that you can see, but that's annoying.
