I keep seeing people asking to buy or sell islands in various forums here.. I usually don't, however, see prices being posted.
Can somebody who's done this recently give me an idea of what an empty (no renters) used island goes for? How much does sim class and 195/295 impact the price?

Since islands don't wear out, the price would - I expect - be fairly comparable to a new one.

Thanks. That's sorta what I figured.
Still curious for ballpark numbers on how class 4/5 and tier of 195/295 effect the price..

From the threads etc. that I've read, I've seen different people use different definitions of 'used'... which also changes the price somewhat. For instance, someone buys an island, landscapes it, kits it out with buildings, plants, maybe divides it into rental parcels, etc etc, and then after a year wants to sell with all that stuff in place. They might ask a higher price than what a brand-new sim costs, because they're including the time and effort (and maybe the revenue potential) in their price. So in this perspective, the 'used' sim could go for more than a new one. Maybe even a lot more - Amsterdam?
On the other hand, if you just wipe the sim bare and return it all to its original state as when received from LL in the first place, then I'd expect to see the 'used' price be a little bit lower than it was brand-new. There's a little more risk from the buyer's perspective, and the bottom line, whether it wears out or not, it's psychologically a 'used' sim, it's not brand-new any more. If I were going to buy a 'used sim' that was in this state, i.e. wiped clean and reverted to original, I would certainly expect to pay less than a brand new one from LL. Maye a 10% or 15% cut from the 'new' price, maybe more depending on the market. Otherwise, what's the incentive to buy it? If you have to pay full price, why not buy it direct from LL?

Well i've been looking into buying a 'used' island, so I can tell you the two prices I have been quoted. One was a New Tier Island, owner was asking $1875.00 or better. The second was an Old Tier Island, owner wanted $2500.00. In the case of the New Tier, it came with nothing. For the Old Tier, it apparently was nicely landscaped with waterfalls and lakes and such. Didn't see either. I decided it was cheaper to just buy a new one, as I'm in no hurry.

Varies a lot, for instance if someone has just lost their RL job then they'll want to offload it quickly, thus at a discount. OTOH as stated before if it's a famous sim that will push the price up. Old tier sims may sell at a slightly elevated price due to their cheaper tier.
