You've always been able to mute particles even before this last update. You just mute the person in the same way you mute them in chat. Basically you don't see their chat, you don't hear any sounds they produce and you don't see any NEW particles. Particles that came out before you mute still show until they die off. I'm not sure what they've improved on this.

I don't think it is true that muting a person has always muted their particles.
Anyone able to confirm or deny this?

Darn I was hopping you could just mute someones particles and not have to mute them and no I don't think that muting someone would mute there particles before the update.
