It seems to me that so many places to which I teleport have me landing facing in a direction that's opposite to my destination. Typically, I'm 180 degress the wrong way, facing nothing. This isn't everywhere, but it happens often enough in a commercial venue. What's up with that? Is there some convention being followed of which I'm just not aware? It's second nature now for me (tp to a store, land, turn around, go in), but one would think most retailers have been in SL long enough to know about newbies and lag not to want to 'turn people around' to get to their retail establishments. Whoever posted the landmark for teleporting had to face the wrong way to record that landmark. It seems illogical at best, inconsiderate at worst, I just don't get it, but it happens so often, it's made me wonder why.

It doesn't seem to matter what direction you are facing when you make the Landmark.... when you TP in you always seem to be faced in one direction.... I have the same problem at my store.

It is also affected by the landowner if they set a tp zone. To prevent people from mapping around where they might not be welcome, I have on my land. This forces tp's to a specific location and facing a specific direction.

I am not certain, but it seems that you retain the facing that you had before you teleported. So if you were facing North and you TP, you're still facing North, even if the store is to the South.
