Is the current downtime (if I'm right, more than 24 hours now) making premium users eligible for compensation, credit?
I don't care if it's only 0.50 USD of something, I want Linden Labs to take responsibility and suffer the consequences.
The grid has been too too unstable lately, but they always just laughed at paying customers: "la-la-la, you get no credit, la-la-la, your loss".

just the way LL certainly knows how to take our dues every bloody month and don't forget they are never late with that one God forbid. we deserve compensation allright. this is pathetic with the online/offline crap. shut the stupid grid down for two/three days if you have to and get it cleaned up and right the first time rather than play with us and bounce us out no warning nothing. hell i don't care if you take a week just do it and do it right.

If it is true that the grid was closed because there was a serious issue with permissions on retailer's items - well, then I for one would rather it were down until they fixed it.
The potential loss to many people is FAR greater than a dayof lost sales.

Sorry, I'm not cynical enough to assume acts of bad faith without evidence leading me to that assumption.

LOL you may have been IN the game but could you do anything? Other than teleport? Could you shop? Could even open your door to your house? No, it may have been up but it was not functional in any way other than to stand there and look at the ground.

LOL Although it has made for a bit of comic relief . . . there is nothing quite like walking out your front door and being sucked into the underworld . . . .

This was somewhere in between it going down for the first time and the second.

Might as well quit looking for downtime credit it's a phantom that will never happen.
6. Under certain circumstances, you may receive service credit for unscheduled downtime.
You will be eligible to receive Service Credit toward recurring service fees (e.g. monthly account fees, 90 Day account fees, annual account fees, and Land Use Fees) for Unscheduled Downtime. "Unscheduled Downtime" is an unplanned or unscheduled interruption in Service availability for a period of at least twenty-four (24) hours during which you are unable to access the Service. Unscheduled Downtime is measured from the end of the time the Service is 100% unreachable for a period of at least twenty-four (24) hours until Service is once again restored. The following are excluded from the calculation of Unscheduled Downtime: (i) scheduled maintenance downtime; (ii) problems outside of our Service (upstream providers, or your inbound connection) not affecting 100% loss to our Service; (iii) interruptions or failure of Service caused by you or your representatives (including inaccurate configuration, third-party software, abuse or over-utilization of resources, hacked servers, attacks, exploits, or server hardware failures); and (iv) causes beyond Linden Lab's reasonable control and occurring without Linden Lab's fault or negligence, including natural disasters, wars, terrorist acts, riots or other violent upheaval, governmental restrictions and actions, and performance failures of a third party outside Linden Lab's control. The amount of any Service Credit will be based on the pro rata percentage of Unscheduled Downtime during your billing cycle (e.g., if there is 1 day of Unscheduled Downtime in a 30-day month for your monthly account, you will receive a Service Credit for 1/30th of your recurring service fees). Any Service Credit will be credited to you during your next billing cycle.
1. All that time the service was reachable but pretty much useless? Doesn't count for credit. And even 5 minutes of it being reachable in 24 hrs of otherwise creditable downtime resets the counter and negates all prior downtime.
2. You get no credit for downtime caused by grid attacks.
3. You get no credit for downtime caused by anything LL can't control.
I'd be shocked to see LL keep their service 100% unreachable for a full 24 hrs due to anything that didn't fall under one of their excemptions.

Just because LL has an EULA/SLA that seems to avoid any liability for damages they could've prevented, doesn't mean they can't be held liable, if they didn't do things they could've done! Too bad I'm not a lawyer living in the USA playing SL, otherwise I'd certainly try to ask for compensation, and if none given, then sue for damages. I'm paying about 35 USD/month -- that's about 400 USD / year!!! That's no small money! I do feel that lately LL hasn't been providing for the money given!
