Perhaps a bit off topic for this forum... I know LL customer service has been getting a bad rap here lately.

But tonight I had a small griefer problem, and Lexie Linden came and dealt with it in mere minutes!! I was frankly amazed at the speed of the response.

So here's some deserved cheers for the customer service crew (both Lindens & volunteers), for such a thankless job!!

Peekay I have also had great experiences with customer service. They even took the time to help me decide which PC to buy when my old one wasn't running SL very good.

When contacting customer service it always helps to be concise and specific in your request and not to tell them they suck when you are asking them for help. :D

I've had more good luck than bad with LiveHelp. Sometimes it takes them a few minutes to respond but they've done good by me.

I have always gotten good response from Lindens in "request help" (cough cough)

I usually start off with the already filed abuse report # and let them know that the person is still there causing trouble. And because I am very good with more than just "he hit me" in my reports citing chat/screenshots/object pointers etc... Most of my abuse reports get resolved. 1/2 assed reports rarely work.

You need to help them as much as you badly need their help. Once the ARs are filed, they have the POWER to fix the problem. Until then... they do their best to stay out of it.

Yes, here too good experiences with the support.

Just act positive towards to them and most likely they will react in the same way back to you. And realise that they may be busy, specially when your problem is not the most urgent one.

I have to in my RL job to do a lot with customers. There is just the same. A customer that act friendly and positive towards me, I am more willing to help and do my best for.. maybe even do a bit extra then needed.
When someone comes rude and agressive towards me... and specially when there is no fundamented reason for it, my will to help goes directly to zero.

As the saying goes: "Treat others as you self like to be treated!".

There's a schedule? Why wasn't I informed? :)

Seriously though, I had a rapid and comprehensive reply from a Linden on live help a few days ago regarding a neighbour who wouldn't clear some trees that were overhanging my property until I terraformed my land to be smooth with hers, despite the fact that the land on the other two sides was higher than mine already.

Another good experience

I had a problem with severe lag in my home sim yesterday, and sent a Help Request. A few minutes later, the sim had been restarted, and all was well.

The inworld customer service is really good. I didn't need to contact them often (since they can't help with requests like "please repair my classifieds";), but I always got a quick response. But I don't call them to deal with griefers that I can simply ban. If I run into an idiot outside my land, I just tp home to avoid trouble, after filing an AR and contacting the land owner.

Good customer service, huh?

Must of been one of those extremely rare days when the moon, the sun, clouds, wind and the sea were all perfectly aligned.

The response you get probably depends on the first thing you say ("*tap* *tap* anyone alive in here?" vs a summary of the problem you're having).

Customer support in world is generally good as long as it's about mundane things (mainland sim that needs restarting, some weird cryptic error you've never seen before, etc) and almost all the time I get a Linden to answer.

It's only when the liaison can't help you and has to refer you to support or billing that things deteriorate pretty quickly. For instance, after two weeks I still haven't heard back about why I'm not getting charged for L$ purchases. You wouldn't think I'd have to nag at them to take my money :p.

I have had a few occasions where Live Help has been tremendously helpful, even one occasion where a Linden responded and fixed an issue with a parcel I had purchased that did not transfer ownership even though the money did (!!!).

The only problem I have ever had with Live Help, now that I think of it, is when I simply don't ever get a response. That has happened on a few occasions as well :(

Inworld customer service :) this thread is about Live Help only, which is much better than any GM team in MMORPGs I've ever encountered.
The email support is another thing. When I joined SL, I got a fast response there too, but I guess now they're simply overwhelmed with the mass of daily requests and complaints (not all of them written by me of course :D )

Philip and the rest of the linden team is making a conscious effort to enhance customer service. So i have a feeling the previous bad rap wont be so prevailent in the future.

My slow response to the same issue was about image resolution. I guess I'm back where I started, and so is my former neighbor.
