I recently paid $25 to my credit limit, and still have a balance of $0.00 over an hour later. I owed nothing before that, so nothing would have deducted.

The charge may have been rejected. A lot of credit card card providers are refusing charges from LL for various reasons (high rate of fraud, LL doesn't ask for the 3-digit security code for verification, LL now uses a UK bank, etc., etc.).

If you are using a credit card, check with them to see if they accepted or refused the charge (or if they even ever saw it). If they refused, they might accept it with your explicit approval... but some banks are refusing totally, even with your approval.

I have heard about PayPal problems too, but I don't know much about those.

/me fearing what happens next month when I have to make my first credit card payment since these probs began

I had a similar problem with my billing this month. Apparently, LL tried to bill on the 1st, but it didn't go through. All I did was update my billing info (using the SAME card), and that seemed to clear things up.

I just had this problem. I've been Basic for several months, but decided last week to go back to Premium and buy some land.

Before I began, I made sure that my credit card information was up to date. I upgraded to Premium. No Problem. Searched around for some land. I wanted 8k m2, but I found two 4k m2 lots side by side. No problem. I buy the first 4k lot and it buys currency for me on LindenX. I get the land. No problem.

Then, when I try to buy the 2nd piece of land, it fails. Well, it does a little better than that. It raises my tier level to 8k and then fails. :D

So, I'm thinking OMG, OMG. What if someone else comes by and gets this other lot before I get things working. I needed the whole 8k m2.

I try a couple of times. no luck. I get a couple of different error messages. One of them indicates that it's having trouble getting the land info and the other indicates a LindenX problem. Then, I'm notified that the region is going down for a rolling update. I move to the next sim and wait nervously.

When the sim comes back up I try again. Still no luck and I'm extremely agitated at this point. Finally, I decide to do it in two steps. I'll buy the Lindens on the website and then buy the land.

So I try to buy the Lindens on secondlife.com and it fails. The error is vague, but I start wondering if it could be my credit card. It seemed unlikely. I was well within my credit limit. I had already billed two things on it successfully. And it was the same credit card that I had used for 2 years when I owned land previously.

But I'm desperate, so I change my billing method to Paypal and try again. And it worked! LOL And I got my land.

Later that day, my phone started ringing from some 800 number, but I didn't pick up. Finally, my daughter did and it was from the credit card company's fraud department. I never did get to talk to them, so I'm expecting some kind of letter in the mail asking me to call. The same thing happened that one time that I decided to try online gambling. :p
