Hiya.

I'd like to host small parties for me and 2-3 of my friends, where we sit down and watch video over SL. Problem is, the only solution I've heard is either Darwin Streaming Server for Mac, or a very juryrigged combo for Windows.

Is there a better, smoother way to produce a video stream into SL based on various video files (not just quicktime) on my hard drive, and/or DVDs? I wouldn't be adverse to rigging up some sort of convert-to-low-bitrate-quicktime, then serve-off-mini-webserver-app if there's no way to stream, but I don't even have software that'll do that. Basically, where do I start?

I've already figured out streaming AUDIO, and I'm aware of the bandwidth problems; I don't mind chopping down the bitrate in order to make this work, really, I don't need high quality, I just want it to work.

I have Anime music videos on my land and i dont stream i just up load them
to my web ftp, and i do have a longer video but it downloads for a few min. before
starting to play.
also using this method i found that converting to .3gp makes the file smaller
and will load much faster.
I have heard blip.tv works with SL. if you want to try that
go to my anime music videos in Kaili (180,200,26) sim if you want to see it working.
