This is pretty weird

Whenever SL takes me to the login screen, instead of the usual screen with the links and all that stuff, I get this instead:

ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://secondlife.com/app/login/

The following error was encountered:

* Access Denied.

Access control configuration prevents your request from being allowed at this time. Please contact your service provider if you feel this is incorrect.

Your cache administrator is webmaster.

just wanted to know if anyone else is getting this.

exactly my problem. with the support portal the login down? can anybody login right now?

Parts of the login screen are really just web pages, your web traffic is going through a web proxy server. The web and html parts of SL do not yet work through a web proxy although it may eventually. In general, you will not actually need direct http access to be able to use SL but you will need to arrange with your firewall sysadmins to allow the ports identified in question 18 at
http://secondlife.com/whatis/faq.php
before you will be able to connect.

And remember that yesterday was Sysadmin appreciation day so you should buy cake and flowers for them:)

I get the exact same thing (in both the trunk and the Voice First Look clients).

I can log in as normal.

If you look at other subjects for threads many others of us have the same problem
from Europe....

I'm getting that, but I can still log on ok.

Same here (in the US). I got that message but logged in fine and everything seems normal.

I trashed evrything from my Apple Mac Library SL folder the login window disappears as described with the usual error...but
at the bottom reappeared the fields for login name and passwd so now i am online again !!!

Getting same message, after finally ignoring it and logging in anyway, getting same result. : )

I know what it is...............LOL
