It used to be a problem if you tp'ed from one sim to another and your destination was over 200m-ish up into the air you'd get your feet "stuck" in the floor prim. They might have fixed that one by now, haven't paid much attention. If that's the problem then a sit and stand up will put you back proper . If your feet are dissapearing in the actual land, if there's a slope, one foot can be in the ground and the other hovering, or both hovering or both in the ground. It's a limitation of SL and nothing to do about that .

I'll guess that it may be a case where the builder has placed a prim over the base land, and maybe the prim is not flush with the base? but it also probably is one of those endearing little Gremlins that make SL so enjoyable. I find sometimes while walking I'll sink totally into the ground, then come back up. I guess it could be due to graphics card issues as well.

Try sitting on something, or clicking on an animation ball, then standing up - usually works to get my feet back where they belong............

I think I know what you are talkin about Sara...my av has that problem too. About 50% of the time he's walking around a Sim, his feet will sink into the ground. sometimes if I change his boots or the "boot base" (shoe shape), it "fixes it".
Unfortunately that's the only thing I have found to do in this situation...it started about 2 updates ago, I think.
Oh yeah...this is on Island/Mainland turf, not Prim floors...just the "ground". When we get back on if you glance around ya'll might see it happening to other avs, if it doesn't happen to you, I know I have

I've noticed this problem since I started wandering around my SL bare feet.

LOL!...yeah that's one thing that prompted me to "shrink" my av...I get the same "quicksand" whether on a floor, or the bare ground though...must be a lil collision detection bug
