At least 'til yesteday...before I upgrade a client of SL..

My P4 2.66 HT, 1 GB Ram and Radeon 9800 Pro works soooo much fine with all graphics settings on maximum !

No longer anymore. If I log on, I crash immeadiatelly.

But there is so much time that I've a doubt. What is the minumum machine that I can buy to play SL not with the best performance that I can get...but play nicelly...with a acceptable confort.

Is a PC with 1 GB RAM DDR2 667 Dual Channel, Celeron D processor and a OnBoard graphic :Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3000 (Intel® GMA X3000) enough ?

I need 2 one more PC and don't wanna sped so much

Henry, I would have to say that on your first PC. That you're best bet may be dropping another gig or ram into it and upgrading the video card to at least an x600 ATI card or an Nvidia 5500 Or better card. They have implemented some new processing into the release client. Ported fom first look. I believe. And If I'm wrong I'm sure somone will correct me. The new client needs OpenGL 1.5-2.0 to run properly and I'm doubting the 9800 series is going to cut it. these however are cheap fixes as opposed to purchasing a whole brand spanking new system. As for the second PC in your post. That Intel Onboard graphics processor would also scare me. Secondlife is notoriously unfriendly with the intel graphics chips and, (at least in the old builds) Were nearly unplayable with an intel graphics chip. Also. Irregardless of that. Your going to want at least 1.5+ GHZ on your copro and 2 gigs of ram for any worthwhile experience.

I hope this helps and please don't take what I say as the final word on this. Let this post sit a few days. There are some very smart people around here and I'm sure somone will offer you some more technical input on the matter. Good luck to you.

These specs QUOTE:[Is a PC with 1 GB RAM DDR2 667 Dual Channel, Celeron D processor and a OnBoard graphic :Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3000 (Intel® GMA X3000) enough ?]:UNQUOTE should be useable, but I ask a question...
Why mate up 1gb DDR2 667 ram with a Celeron processor, coupled with onboard graphics by Intel?
The cost of a PCI-E graphics board, or AGP x8 are not that expensive and you will have a greater chance of not upgrading that part of your system for quite sometime. If you buy a graphics card as part of a system, it is always cheaper as they offer OEM versions. According to the LL specs LL System Specs list Intel as being a graphics chip that may work, but not supported.

Amy, about my 1st PC: Have no idea how many users had the same problem.Today I chatted with several SL friends of mine and so much of my friends had problems with this new client.
I Don't wanna believe that LL will abandon this users and I don't believe that everybody with problems will buy another PC just for SL.It's a non-mature decision of SL.

About the 2nd PC: My wife is starting to like SL and there is just one PC at my home.I need to buy another to her.The only thing I know is intel graphics onboard is the Directx 9.0c and 12 Gb/S bandwidth.Ok, this is not the paradise ! But my wife don't need so much anyway ;)
Ah, and this MoBo I can put another processor such as C2D and a PCI-X graphics video later.

AWM, I don't wanna buy a PCI-X card now cuz I've plans to make some upgrades more "powerfull" on this PC (Processor and Video) for my own use and leave my current PC to my Wife.Just it.Need a non expensive solution for now.

Just think: My wife just use SL to play Slingo at ;) hahah..I don't wanna spend lotta money for that ;)

Uauu ! Man ! Aswesome !

I feel that the only 2 important things to SL is a good graphic card and 1 GB of memory !
