I am rather new to SL but during my travels through it I have seen several different book shops. It strikes me that SL would be an ideal place to promote a novel. Several years ago I self-published an erotic novel based on the legend of Lilith on Barnes and Nobles iUniverse website. Is there any residents that could help me with this endeavor or point me in the right direction.
Thanks, CheapCharlie

I'm sorry you haven't gotten a response. I was thinking the same thing for a friend of mine who is a writer and has a few books herself although I haven't pitched the idea to her yet. I haven't seen many book shops but I have encountered actual readable books (the "For Dummies" series) in an information island library that I thought were really cool. I was thinking of building something similar to show her as a prototype. Which book shops did you visit? I'd be interested in taking a look.

Thanks for the response. I visited Bantam dell Book shop, Passionate Books and Snow books. I have seen "book signing events" by searching the web with google. If you have any suggestions how to have a virtual book created and an event organized I would appreciate it.
Thanks, Cheap Charlie

I'm not sure about events but I just found this on slexchange. Looks like it even encrypts the contents to protect against copying. But you have to buy a separate printing press to make copies of the finished product. http://www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=11933

Good luck! And please remember me if you do hold an event. I'd love to attend.
