Modify My Objects Problem

Hi,

my SL partner has gone into hospital with a serious condition, and we are all rooting for her.

Before she went she gave me modify rights on her objects, as we have a rental business together.

Unfortunately, this has fallen at the first hurdle, when a tenant asked if I could move some furniture around, as she wanted to install her own bed, which she had been given permission to do.

the problem is that the furniture I need to move will not allow me, as it has been Locked in position, and the Lock checkbox is greyed out.

Is there anyway around this?

Good wishes on the speedy recovery of your SL Partner!

Make sure you don't have "select only my objects" checked in the Tools menu. That can screw up a number of things that someone with mod rights should be able to change.

There is no work around.
if your SL Partner locked objects the only way you can move them is to "unlock" them. and the only way to "unlock" them is to log inside your SL Partner's account and unlock them.

The second option that might work.. is if you can "Take" the objects (even with them locked). this is sometimes possible (if the item is transferable). If you "take" them .. you can then set them back out and "unlock" them.

But only an object "owner" can lock/unlock an object (which is why if you can "take" it .. it might let you unlock it - 'cause after you "take" the object you become the "owner";).
