Lost Dog

Lost: Bulldog. Last colored gray. Answers to the name of Spike. Dissappeared overnight from the sim of Rosieri two days ago. Owner bereft!

(Any ideas? I've looked all over, including in Lost and Found, in the corner of the sim, and underground. Is this just poofed pixels, period? And why would it happen when I'm not online?)

Why it would happen when you're offline depends on the dog. Many pets are scripted to have a mind of their own, and will wander around whether or not you're around (that's certainly true of the dogs on my land.) Are there banlines abutting your property? Our dogs frequently get stuck on the land of the one neighbor with banlines up.

Is it a D&D dog? They're supposed to IM you their coordinates and sim name if you get separated.. If it was in your inventory and not rezzed in-world when it went missing, that's probably a bigger problem :/

I had my Astrochick disappear off my land as well. He had been happily wandering about for probably 2 months, then one day during the past week he was gone.

I won't bother to tell you what LL support offered as "assistance".

Since it was only a 25L chick, I didn't get too upset. However, if this is a new SL feature, I will certainly not be buying any expensive no-copy pets that will just go "poof" off the grid while I'm not logged in.

If it did wander off, and you know the exact name of it, you could always use one of the object locator scripts and circle a few hundred meter around your land and see if it turns up.

(Did you look under the land in case it sunk underground for some weird, odd reason?)

Yes, I looked underneath the ground. It's a D&D dog, and he doesn't really wander, just follows me. I just left him sitting there when I logged off.

When I logged on the next day, he was gone. Yes, he sometimes tells me his coordinates, but I have noticed that he doesn't always. I will try one of those locator scripts. Thanks!

if the Dog was no copy and the sim crashed Lindens restarted a backed up sim before your dog was in it, :/ it happens a lot with vehicles iv lost lots i just wont buy nocopy any more. but basicly the Lindens killed your dog. and they wont go into a backup and search for him ive asked.

My dog is quite silly and gets lost all the time, she got killed once and the creator replaced her as soon as I sent him a notecard he gave me in case something happened to it (seems it does happen from time to time). Now I dont let her wander free, I take her into inventory everytime I leave the sim.

IM the creator Coco, he'll probably replace it for you.

1KM = 4 sims (Ap)

So Coco, Look for anybody with a Female Sim Dog in Heat within a 45 Sim Radius, and you will find your Bulldog.

Well, the person who sells them gave me a replacement last night!

Course, I was so beside myself without my dog, I couldn't stand it anymore and had already bought another. But - the replacement came with all the tricks included, so I don't have to repurchase that!

yeah she has her dog trained to nip my heals i have bite marks on my ankles but he is always around when i go

he seems like a good doggie even though i have to wear foam padding around my ankles thankfully he isn't a huge dog or i would uh be in a rubber suit everytime i went otherwise he's adorable
