Fix The Damn Tp Problem!!

For the past several days I have been unable to tp to most places. I talked to my wife who has an SL account and friends of mine on SL and they have no problems so I wanna know that the hell is goin on? I cant tp to work most of the time or to alot of places for that matter. I keep getting the message saying it cant do my request cuz its takin too long. Can somebody plz help me? I've done all that I can from clearing the cache, restartin SL, restartin my pc, uninstallin and reinstalling SL and nothin is workin. I'm not payin my good hard earned money on a game that I cant even use, this is really pissin me off.

Try taking off all your attachments and tping around for a bit.

One attachment you may or may not be aware of may be having trouble loading you, which keeps you from tping or taking awhile, especially with the lag and overload problems as of late.

If you tp fine, start putting on items one by one to see which is the problem. IF you think you've found it, remove it and keep putting on others to double check.

I was having problems with tping when I was wearing all my jewelry (some with bling), a poofer, a hud and some other miscellaneous stuff. Removing a few of the bling scripts out of my jewelry seemed to make it work better.

Calm down. The database server is under presure, and as such TPs can be unreliable. However, having a "Taking too lang" TP error may be indicitave of a bad connection. Check your firewall and router, and thank you for playing Second Life!

I'll try the attachment suggestion thanx. as far as my connection go's I know it cant be that cuz my wife has no problems whatsoever and we use the same pc.

Also note that the TP problem is kinda random. I've been getting around a 30% success rate porting places- even to my own island- since Saturday. When I try to port friends, we just keep trying it until it works. But like someone else mentioned, removing attachments seems to help. If desparate, you can even try these steps to instantly assume a prim-free-but-PG avatar:

1. If you don't see the Client and Server menus at the top of your screen, press CTRL+ALT+D.
2. On the Client menu, go to Character > Character Tests > Test Female (or Test Male). This will dress you in a default newbie avatar without any attachments.

You can return to your normal avatar state at your destination.
