Hi all, I have been doing a lot of research for this thing and I am currently looking in the wrong places or just over looked something. The first issue I have is when I try to teleport. I've gotten myself somewhere on the map, but if I try to fly to my destination I hit invisible "walls" So I wanted to teleport back to the help island and I located the island and clicked teleport... and nothing it tells me I cant teleport there, or a lot of places for that matter. I know there are private areas, but I wanted to teleport to the land auction place andit wouldn't let me do that. Am I missing something simple?

My money problem is that when I was signing up it was advertised you get 1200L when you sign up. Is this something that takes time or should that money be there already? I dont have anything.

Thanks

Not sure about the teleport problem. TP gets screwey at times, or the region might be full.

The 1200l is for signing up to a premium account, not for a basic one. Get the feel of things first before deciding on a premium.

TStrontium Decosta: TP - regions being full makes since, I didn't know about that! But why does Help Island get full?? I was stuck for a while now I've gotten myself to Morris 0,249,40
but I still can't teleport to any of the newbie areas or Help Island!! Really frustrating.

I did sign up for the preimum account that's why I was wondering.

Is there somewhere to go so I can access mature areas or is that defualt?

Thanks

In search theres a checkbox to include parcels with mature content.

Do a search for something in the places tab, and try to tp to one of the low traffic areas.

No idea about the 1200 then, sl has been very screwey of late. Might need to get in touch, or could be waiting to verify card, that takes a while.

Have you tried to go to edit/search and in land sales use drop down window?
When you want to purchase item in auctions you're going to need a whole lot more then 1200l or what the new player linden limit is and you purchase auctioned land via website. I strongly suggest you check out educational event under events in search tab that teach new players things before spending money in SL.

I don't know what all your problems are, but the "invisible walls" should only be one of three things:

1. You've flown to the edge of the sim. Once you get to that, you won't be able to go any farther. If I'm reading your meaning right, this may be what's happening. If you're trying to fly somewhere very far away, especially if the map shows a lot of ocean between where you are and where you're trying to go, that's probably it. You'll have to teleport to get to the other sim.

2. You're trying to fly across a parcel that someone owns and has set the security to block unauthorized people. If that's the case, the wall isn't actually invisible, and you should see red words floating in the air saying it is restricted. You should be able to fly over or around those.

3. It's an actual wall of building that hasn't rezzed (resolved) for you yet. In areas where there are a lot of objects, and especially if your computer doesn't have a lot of RAM or video memory, it can take a little bit for everything there to become visible. Wait a minute or two and see if something appears where the wall is.

There's a wait period for when you receive the bonus stated, something like 45 days I believe.

Probably to make sure people arent just creating alts to generate money and then passing it to their main.

wouldnt do you any good. the 1200l comes with a premium account, so you have to pay a minimum of 9.95$US to get it.

the linden transfer usually pays 2580 for 10$US, so settin up premiums is hardley a way to make money. There is a wait, but its while they verify the dtails of your card. Should be within a day.

Hi Phone Burt,

Here's a few facts that might be of help...You've started on a Help Island and teleported somewhere of interest, now you want to return to your start point. You will generally find it impossible to 'fly' back to the Help Island because you will fly into the edge of a sim, you'll just keep bouncing off it, so the idea of flying across the ocean to your starting point just isn't going to happen (even if there's a red arrow pointing you towards the Help Island), you will have to teleport back. So...call up your map, goto the search panel on the right , type in 'help island' and hit search..I hope you remember which Help Island you started at because there are about twelve. You will probably find many are busy and you cannot teleport to them..so try another..they're all pretty much the same, they all offer the same help. Here's a possible tip..try hitting 'Go Home' the blue button on the top right, if you're new then the default setting for 'home' is probably your 'original' Help Island.

Now a few financial facts...Premium members get a sign up payment of about L$ 1000, but they don't get it till they've been members for 45 days (now it may be L$1200, and it may be somewhere around about 45 days I'm not sure exactly, but I do know you don't get it straight away on sign up). Also Premium members get a weekly 'stipend' of L$500 (or is it L$400), that's payed on every Tuesday. A word of warning though..don't hold your breath, L$1200 won't buy you and island, maybe a virtual burger.

Hopefully that should help answer your queries..don't worry it's all pretty confusing to start with..be assured though, it will probably get worse before it gets better, but it will get better.
