Anyone else having problems with frequent crashing and inventory not loading? This started on Saturday, no better today. I hope I am not alone in SL with weird problems from this weekend.

I have an ALT that is fine.

i am crashing frequently in the last couple of days and my inventory is taking for ever to load. When i select to clear the cache next time i open sl it does not open the box saying "Clearing Cache" it just loads the log in screen.

Yeah, ditto me re the clear cache.

I don't think that clearing cache thing works half the time.

Maybe physicaly clear the cache.

Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\SecondLife
(sorry I don't know the location if your on a Mac).

and delete all the files there .. note: all you preferances will need to be reset but it guarantees that your cache is clear.

And try emptying your trash
I crash each time I do
I'm cleaning up inventory, so emptying trash is frequent, so is crashing :/

On a Mac it's /Users/Your Name/Library/Application Support/Second Life/cache. Clearing the cache on a Mac doesn't affect any of the settings.

I'm having a buggy old time of it too.

I've had that problem for ages now. /me shakes head - We try to be responsible citizens and clean out inventory and this is what we get. :(

yah, clearing -just- the cache won't affect your preferences. but sometimes after client updates, it's good to trash the whole sl directory in application support, and build back up a fresh set of preferences... pitb, but good to do once in awhile.

but not this time... i've tried clear cache and app support deletion several times, but still having rather frequent (every hour at least), seemingly random crashes. at least my crash reporting is set to auto. ;) i've been keeping my time inworld at a minimum since last update...

Since 1.16 I've been crashing almost constantly- mostly on dense mainland. I mean crashing while stuff is still rezzing. Constantly. The windlight viewer was fairly crash-free for me, but with 1.17 that's gone again.

Thanks for all help...seems like the problem is more complex than originally thought. LL support can't seem to get a handle on it, at least currently.

"We have also used this opportunity to fix a common server crash. Thank you for your patience as we restart all the regions.
UPDATE: This was completed at around 4:30am PDT."

YEAH RIGHT. I just crashed twice in a row.
