Second Life cannot be accessed from this computer

It is my turn to experience this awful bug; from what I gather in the forums it clears up after awhile. Anyone else experiencing this now? And if you experienced it in the past few days, how long before it cleared up and you could get on again.

I have to say that Second Life is getting very weird..so much promise and now it just seems its bork after bork.

A lot of 'tp unavailable', a lot of 'waiting to download clothes - other people will see you dressed' and a lot of slow to arrive clothing images.
Flakey .. but just about usable with perserverance. Keep an eye on that 'currently logged' figure!

I am since last saturday with this message saying i cant access from my computer.
i am sending mails and mails and mails and nobody cares.

it's fine while i upgraded my broadband connection to 1M, hope that helps.

it will all work better after tommorows update i hope

Hooray, I'm back on after leaving a message with Support last night!!!

Whew, that was scary being locked out tho I could get on with my husbands computer. This world could vanish in an instant and there is really nothing we can do about it.

Appreciate it while we got it I supposed and hope it lasts and grows like the web did before it.

Sounds to me like the computer your on was banned for some reason.

I know this error usually happens if someone is hash banned, but lately it's been happening to people who aren't... I don't know anything about how hash bans work, but isn't is a serial or something assigned to your computer? Does that number ever change? If you give your hard drive or some other part away to someone else who plays SL, would it ban them too? I just find it odd. Either way since your back in SL, you were probably a victim of that glitch too.

Our house is getting this too now, since the "lack of" update. Soon as they got my latest island tier payment they block our computers in my house, this is four computers with six SL accounts on the Adult and Teen grids. I know for a fact we did nothing wrong.

The teens have not been home (One is working after school - I pick him up on my way home from work and the other was on a tour with no computer access in NYC) when I haven't been home for the last two weeks and I sit where I can watch their screens. I've been a business owner and sim owner in SL for three years, I'm certainly not going to do something stupid or allow my teens to do something stupid to get me kicked off of SL.

We now have SL businesses in both grids in jeapordy until this gets resolved. (Apartment/Land rentals and markets) I've written, submitted support forms, and called and still no contact and no help. It better be a glitch that is resolved soon or I'm looking at plane fares to CA.

i am still blocked... since last saturday. one week blocked, for no reason at all.
dozen of emails sented. none answered. try to call the phone number. after 10 minutes of "holding", all my calls ended in the mail box. and it was very expensive because there is no toll-free here in my country.

Tull, do you have access to another PC that you can try your login from?
I don't know how this can help but if as someone pointed out it's the tag on your PC that's banned/disabled/screwed up/whatever, it may point you in the right direction.

this happened to me last weekend it wass soooooo annoying

try assigning your computer a static ip and see if u can login, its crackers but my friend suggested it and it worked

but seriously this bug is realllly annoying

Anybody thought that it's just plain old incompetance in the chain of command from decision to ban someone to actually banning that person and making sure there is no collateral damage ?

When it happened to me a while back. "collateral damage" was a phrase used several times by whoever answered the phone. Not very encouraging that this happens, thankfully they cleared it up in a few hours.

I'm not sure whether it's actually accurate or not, but from a few help requests it would seem that it's possibly triggered by trying to log on with the wrong password (typo'ed) a few times in a row, or across a period of time.
