I know this should not be that hard, but i can not figure it out.

I can make a cube, and put a texture on it but how do i select just one side of the prim and appy texture to only that side?

Thanks for all your help

when in edit mode click on edit linked parts then texture..they are top left of the edit thing then you can select each side or 1 side or a few sides and change just those

You can also drag a texture onto one side.

Shift-drag the texture to retexture the entire prim.

You can -

texture through the texture box
drag a texture onto the texture preview square
drag a texture from inv onto one face
drag an open texture onto one face
shift-drag a texture from inv onto an object
shift-drag an open texture onto an object

Right-click object, select Edit
in the edit window, click Object tab
then change it from 'Position' to 'Select Texture'

Now you can click a face of the object, and apply a texture to that face alone.
