I'm constantly being inundated with IMs from groups I belong to, but these IMs are just coversations between two or three group members. Also, I'm being notified constantly when "so-and-so" has left the conversation.
Is there a way to disable these unnecessary IMs without having to leave the group?
Any suggestions are much appreciated.

We've been asking for the ability to simply mute group IMs for some time now. Sadly, it's still not an ability for us, either.
If you are in the middle of building and such and wish to not recieve IMs, the closest thing you can do is go into busy mode.

I left several groups for this reason. There was so much chatter that I found that I was ignoring all IM's and missing ones that I really needed.

From: Aislin Keynes I left several groups for this reason. There was so much chatter that I found that I was ignoring all IM's and missing ones that I really needed. Same here. I am just member of a very limited number of groups... and just two are really important for me (The N30 PhotoStudio user group and my own small group to give rights on objects in my house to my friend which who I share that house). Apart from that some fashiongroups, but almost no talk there. So that is okay. Morwen.

My biggest annoyance right now are those "So-and-so has left the session" messages. The group IM window will actually pop up, just to display one of those. For example, the chatter is over and I missed it because I just logged on. The messages about people leaving the session will open up a group IM window for me even though there is no actual discussion. That should NOT trigger a new session for someone. Can this be fixed?
The ability to mute things would be good to. I have been trapped in spammy groups because I needed them for one reason or another, and I have left groups I would rather not have because of the constant spammy chatter. The option to mute all group IMs and to mute a certain group's IMs would definitely be welcome.

Got to Edit->Groups, select the group you want to mute, and in the lower right corner there is a check box for whether you want to receive group IMs.
This is from memory, so I may have skipped some details.

That's for group notices, not IMs.

From: Madison Carnot My biggest annoyance right now are those "So-and-so has left the session" messages. Is that considered a bug? I got several from multiple groups within the space of a minute last night and there hadn't even been any chatter!
