Some people are not using voice chat to talk,
Instead they use stream music to talk, Woot!
How to do that?

Are you talking about DJs or people just chatting via the Second Life Radio tool?

DJs usually do the following:

You rent a shoutcast server and install a broadcast program like SAM Broadcaster from Spacial Audio. SAM Broadcaster is not free and the SAM4 trial stops working after the trial period ends - so install SAM3 working trial.

If you want a SAM Broadcaster lesson just contact me for a complimentary one.

Don't trust the DJs, they are altering you mind with audio brain washing and just waiting with held breaths for the time when they can play the "initiate sequence" song.

(I am just in a silly mood, I DJ)

You weren't supposed to talk about the "Initiate Sequence" song. Now the whole farewell tour of the Scorpions after the March release of their final album is for nothing. :(

Bump. Hey, Lias, would you please send me that information also? I didn't realize there was an earlier version of SAM I could use. Voice with WinAmp and the Shoutcast plug-in tends to freeze up. Thanks!

LOL. I like DJs that engage their audience with idle chatter. Some like to experience the music without disruption. Different Strokes for Different Folks.

I haven't done any voice for a while. I instinctively don't like it but when I did, I would deliberately use SL voice so as not to disrupt the music for those that don't want to hear me.

Is there any reason you can't just plug you iPod or whatever into the microphone socket of your computer and turn voice on?

for those that do not want to pay for dj software, winamp has a plugin to talk between the music, not sure if the plugin also alows to talk over the music but with free software it does not cost anything but your time to try it out.

there are also free programs for live djing on linux, they can be found on the icecast website and probably other places if you look around.

LOL. And after you waste a few fruitless days with that nonsese you can look into spacial audio for PC and nicecast for the MAC. Live Mix Djs seem to also like Virtual DJ (with broadcast plug-in) and Trakktor.

The Shoutcast plug-in for WinAmp does okay if all you want to do is play music. If you try to use it to do voice and you have more than a couple of listeners, it freezes WinAmp and the music stops. That's why I'm looking for alternatives.
