Does Logging In Violate the Wagering Policy?

Last Wednesday, Linden Labs instituted a wagering policy that, among other things, prohibits users from playing games that "rely on chance . . . to determine a winner."

Since institution of that policy, Second Life has suffered from grid stability problems that have randomly prevented logins or use of basic functions. For example, residents have been unable to purchase Lindens, unable to buy products, and suffered inventory loss.

Because of the Second Life grid instability, Linden Labs has determined that all conduct of any commerce in Second Life is a game that relies upon chance to determine a winner, and thus any business transaction at all in Second Life violates the wagering policy. The grid and web site remain periodically unavailable as Linden Labs determines whether there is any resident that should not be suspended for violating the wagering policy.

(By the way, this is an entirely satirical post.)

Lol

Since they banned gambling Second Life has gained all the bad luck the casinos were unable to get rid of.

The grid absorbed it and thus lots of problems :p .

But you've forgotten the most important part of the policy, namely that the winner has to be given something of value. Clearly, that doesn't happen when you log in successfully, so it's not a violation of the wagering policy.

It gets worse if you have any bling that ends up in your butt....

You could also bet on being Ruthed....and/or having something up your butt...multiple great occasions for a bet! I think as long as I don't wager any more L$ on it I'm safe! ;)

I bet the reason for all the instability is because all the gamblers left the casinos and are now exploring the grid and building things. They upseted the natural order!!! :O
