Hello,

There is a house that has intruded onto MY land and into MY own home from the business that is run on the parcel next door. I have left a message for the parcel owner next door asking them to remove the house.

Am I able to remove it myself?

And how is something like this even possible?

Thank you!!!

Your quickest bet is to work with your neighbor the get the house moved. If that fails, then email support. If you have object auto return on, sometimes that will remove the offending item, but the item has to be centered on your property for that to work. Linked objects, such as a house, will have a "center" point that defines where that object is on the x/y axis. So, an object that is centered on somebody elses property can overlap onto your property.

I'd start with a polite request to the neighbor. If they're not online, IM them and/or drop them a notecard. Be sure to tell them EXACTLY where the problem is--they may not know.

If that doesn't work, and its on your land, you can try RIGHT CLICK on it-- then (I think its in 'more...') there's a "RETURN to Owner" and a "DELETE" option. Do what's right.

If that doesn't work--I'd call for a Linden in online help.
Didn't they just close the Forum that used to handle these issues-- because their online support was going to do it?

They usually will if asked politely, Not everyone thinks to turn on the Property lines when they Build, it's an Easy Mistake to make, si it's always best to just ask Nicely.

Nor do those property lines go up high enough to make it easier for people like me to figure them out. (Unless there is a way to make the property lines show up at around 10m high? And I just don't know about it?) But as Angelique said, usually, asking nicely resolves the issue and maybe even nets you a new friend.

I use Surveying Markers. I Place Poles that are .01 by .01 by Ten Meters high at the Corners, and at Intervals around the edges of the Property and around the Projected Boundries of my Building (White for Property Lines, Red for Building edges), then Raise them to the level where i am Building. Giving away a Trade Secret here, But it works Very well.

I just build it/rez it on the ground, make sure it's within the boundaries, then raise it up. Prolly pretty noobish, but it works for me. No special tools required. (No offence towards your building poles Angelique, just cutting them out of the equation.) Just remember to only move it with the blue arrow (or the z value in coords if you're going higher than visibility) or you'll have to reposition it.
