How come when I post a blog comment it is marked "awaiting moderation" while everyone else's comment gets in straight away? Do I have to pay extra or something?

If you haven't posted a comment to the Blog successfully yet, they flag new posts as "Awaiting moderation", and you have to be manually cleared. Once you've made a few acceptable posts, they clear that flag for you and you can post without a delay.
I suspect that the individual blogs can also set a threshold for the number of posts you need to pass through without moderation.
