Is it possible to change gender?

Is it possible? Maybe some fee or something? It is always different in games being a female than a male and I'll like to experience that.

You can't change your name but you can change your appearance to whatever you want.

You can change your avatar's gender at will. There is no fee.

There are basic Linden Provides Shapes/skins/outfits for both Male and female in the Library folder.

Changing your Avatars name requires the Lindens - you cant change it easily NOR back and forth.

It is possible to to have multiple accounts, however.

If you are into virtual dating - keep in mind theres a large number of people who care about the RL gender of the person behind the other end of the screen.

Changing your RL gender requires surgury.

Two ways to go Brent:

Stay as one account and build folder(s) with your female outfits ... or ..
Create an alt, along with an appropriate name. Even 'friend' them to transfer money!

Bear in mind, there seems to be a barrier at the moment to creating alts which haven't been fully explained.
Be very aware of what Colette points out though. Many people can't handle the idea of gender swap. Many feel the need to be 'real' with SL.
I tried this very idea out myself some months back. It is a huge eye-opener I can tell you. Good luck .. but be careful!

You can pretty much make your av into any shape you want. I met a flying moth type thing a few days ago and had a very nice conversation with a badger yesterday.

It's possible to change gender, but the hormone treatments aren't fun at all.

I believe your stipend gets cut in half, too. I wouldn't risk it.
