Hi guys ....To start with i am NOT a creator what so ever,so please DON'T jump down my throat :).This is just a question of curiousity ....I would like to know.. Why do most creators of skirts (mainly mini-skirts ) use the shorts layer and the prim attachment piece? Is this the easy way to make mini skirts or what ?.... My avi in my regards has a slim figure and little butt, and i find that system skirts fit and look just fine on me..i have found after buying said prim attach skirts that they seem hard to fit to my avi and look odd as you can see the prim piece quite clearly :(...Am i being to fussy in my attempt to look sexy ? :(...Also in my opinion i find the prim attachment as a waste of an attachment place as i like to wear belly rings, belly chains and other such things..Again please don't get all huffy with your comments ,these are just 1 av's opinions :)....please let me know your thoughts ...Thamk you for reading this post xxxxx

Reason most don't use the system skirt is that for the *ahem* fuller figured, the system skirt makes the butt look HUGE and many people don't want to waste the time or cannot adjust their shapes to make the system skirt look right.

With a prim skirt, you get a bit more movement and it can be made to fit better.

I like my shape, and the system skirt makes my ass look huge, when it is in fact quite lovely. I'll take the prim.

The skirts/pants combo (1-3) tend to be more streamlined compared to the system skirts (7-9). I had to make a graphic to show! I think they both have their own problems. The fluffy flexi pleated skirts I think are much better at giving the illusion of skirts (4-6).

I could tell that 7-9 was system skirts just by looking at them.

It's not enough to just set butt size down when I want to make a "system skirt shape". The hip width has to be taken in with some points too. That makes the legs too close IMHO.

I like system skirts best when they are down to the knee. Gives a very sexy 1940's look with the right shape. But miniskirts? No thanks.

I've stuck entirely with system skirts. All you need to do to get them to fit nicely is to A) minimise the poofiness values and B) make a version of your avatar with slimmer hips, butt and saddlebags to for use with these skirts. Nobody sees your shape underneath, so nobody's any the wiser. Plenty of people seem happy to chop off their av's standard feet in order to wear prim feet, which is more drastic!

There are shortcomings with systems skirts, yes, but the same is true of prim ones, which either separate into ribbons as you move around or look like a slightly flexible bucket when you bend over or sit down!

For miniskirts a less drastic shape mod is needed - just flatter butt.

I keep a lot of my favourite outfits in folders that include everything, including a copy of the appropriate shape.

There are some nice prim skirt designs around, I agree. For very long skirts or dresses, neither systems works well unless you're standing fairly still. System dresses stretch the pattern unrealistically if you move your legs apart, while prim ones trail behind in a series of flexible cones as you walk along.

I tend to make a different shape for each outfit. This one has slight knock-knees as well as a smaller backside.
