Ok. so I've been on land where this can be done but I'm at a loss for what land setting allows it.
Basically, we have group land. And would like members of the group to be able to create LMs or double click TP to wherever they would like. While still having a landing zone for non members. I've been on land where this is in effect (perhaps it's just an SL bug...I don't know) but I can't figure out how to set it up on this new land.
We have "create landmarks" enabled in group
they can also "set home"
the land does, however, have a landing zone
Does anyone know what might be preventing group members from being able to land anywhere they like?

Not 100% sure but i think they'd need the set landing point rights for that.

having a set landing point cancels out allowing residents to land anywhere, only owners can land anywhere, set the default landing point to anywhere.

Can you make a separate, tiny parcel for non group members to land in, and then make the larger (group) parcel to have a non set landing point?

Dekka, we can't. the way the sim is set up, people REALLY must land in a certain spot (RP sim) but group members, it'd be nice if they could move around. Melita...I would love to but our landing point is a skybox so there's not really a good way to do that  But thank you both so much for the advice! |

Then you can try it the other way around : create parcels where only your group members can land (or just a happy few, with landaccess).

One way around landing points. Set your home point on the parcel and tp to home.
