ok, so we know what they are and the advantages but how do you know what 'class' the land you are on is? I couldnt find reference anywhere to the actual class so in effect ppl could claim class 5 when it is in essence only 4 or worse 3. Someone please point it out for me.

There is no way to tell anymore. I have been tracking our sim which should have been one of the last class 4 or the first of the class fives and it will be on the same server as different sims at different times. The sim number used to be a way to tell, but not any more. Essentially someone claiming a particular class is at the best, guessing. I have watched our sim change servers several times in one week. Sometimes we are on the same server as really old sims, other times with newer sims, and lots of times with private islands. My best guess is that when a sim crashes it must get restarted on the next available server. You might be class 5 today, and 3 tomorrow and 4 all of the following week. Check this website for more information on how to track your sim and who is sharing your server, along with links to messages from the Lindens about server class. http://neighbours.maxcase.info/index.php |

I had suspicions *once* that one of my class 4's was temporarily a class 5 based on some resident reports, but by the time I could get around to it, it was acting like a class 4 again. I'd explain how to tell, but without either a completely empty sim, or a sim you know intimately well, it's difficult. In my sims I sure can tell with extremely high certainty, but in someone else's I'm not used to... I'd have to start benchmarking carefully, and that's a bit of work. One really sloppy hint: rento box text generally spills *instantly* in a modestly heavy-loaded class 5 when you click on it, and slowly over a few seconds in a similarly loaded class 4. _____________________
