When I log in with my primary, I get the message that I have to wait to download clothes. Well, after waiting several hours, I still can't changes clothes, skins, or shapes. I can see them all in inventory. My inventory is complete. I just can't change anything. I can add and remove prim based items and My alt has no problems, so it's not the viewer. HELP!!! I feel like crawling in the corner and whimpering.

Try clearing your cache and relogging. Preferences > Network tab > clear cache.

Tried that many times. It's as if one last item hasn't loaded. I can view everything in inventory, but I can wear nothing. Nor can I edit my appearance.

Okay, if the clearing the cache didn't work, have you tried logging into another sim? Go to the login screen, press preferences and under general go to starting location and select 'type region name.' I recommend Pooley.
If that doesn't clear it up, see if you can get a Linden on Help Request. It may be as you said, that the one last thing isn't downloading.. or the sim you were in is in dire need of a restart.

Have you tried right clicking on a folder within the inventory (which has a complete outfit in it including shape, skin, eyes etc) and selecting "replace outfit"? This may not work, but it has for me on occasion when I was ruthed, and it said my clothing was still downloading.

(from memory) Client / Character / Tests / Test Male or Test Female essentially does the same thing, and it will place a folder containing the default avie in your Clothing folder in inventory. If it doesn't work, right-click on the folder in inventory, and pick "Replace Outfit". For some people it can take multiple tries before it will finally take. (If you don't have the Client menu to the right of Help, try Ctrl-Alt-D or Ctrl-Alt-Shift-D) |
