For awhile there these stupid bugs seemed to have gone away.. but over the fast few days I've talked to customers.. and other designers who are having these issues again. This is just beyond stupid already.. Don't rez anything you can't do without.. hello??!! Something needs to be done about this now, how can you sit there and tell a community that they cant use the inventory they bought because they may lose it..do you know what this is doing to designers and builders. Not to mention all the money ppl are losing ? All of us.. developers included.
I lost over 10k replacing a chair twice.. only to have it sucked up twice in a row.. and understandably the designer would not replace it..Wasn't her fault.
I've posted up our store policy in our stores.. that have been in our design house profiles..we no longer can keep replacing items that are being lost because of Sl's lack of attention to this bug..
I've talked to a few designers who are doing this as well.SL your leaving us no choice.. get off your bums and fix this promblem already.. enough is enough.

Yep, all the old asset-server related bugs are crawling out of the woodwork again. Just when the grid was halfway working again and inventory losses started to cease. And for what? To "improve the voice experience available in the First Look: Voice client"! Yeah, that's what we need instead of a stable, reliable grid.

I suppose it matters whether the item is transferable/copy but why would you stick it to your customer because of a SL problem? Personally, if I saw that sign in a store, I would not buy there at all. I may be less likely to even return in the future.

Sticking it to a customer? How are we suppose to know legit claims from faulty ones..after an item is purchased thats all we know that its been purchased and received. Why should a developer have to deal with these issues when it's not their fault either? If you don't return to a store that has that policy thats your decesion...but if anything the fault lays in the Lindens.. Developers shouldnt be forced to give replacements on objects that have already purchased and received sucessfully.

How many seconds would it take for you to decide to close your store if you knew there was an odd-to-good chance that people were able to buy without you getting the money?
It's not consumers' fault if what they purchased vanishes in whatever way, so there's no good reason to take it out on them.
Either close down and that way you don't have to worry that the world is out to defraud you, or stay open and accept that you're taking a gamble that not everyone is going to get what they paid for and replace when it happens. Or a comprise would be to simply take any high-priced items out for the moment and wait until things calm down.

Well feedback is what I wanted so this is good.. so far I've only spoken to designers..
But to clear it up its not a question of ppl getting their stuff..they are getting their stuff.. its in their inventory when they leave the store..then they go home try and try to "rezz" it that seems to be the promblem..
Ppl..including myself get the"inventory not able to rezz" error.. and it still says the item is in the inventory up until you log out and log back in and poof..
Well Im going to talk to my sister.. seems for us anyway the only issue has been furniture.. so best thing around that i suppose is no transfer ..copy..

It isn't only new stuff that this is happening with: I took back into inventory something I'd had for months - then it wouldn't rezz again. When I relogged it had gone and I had only the folder. I thought it was a one-off so went and bought another (that's 2 at $500L each) and the new one wouldn't rezz - and on relog it, too, had disappeared. I know $1000L is not a great deal in rl money but... the cost of the land, the tier and everything I've put on the land to make it nice.... it mounts up. I won't be buying anything else until I read that this bug has been fixed.

There seem to be two kinds of problems:
1) person buys something, it seems to make it into their inventory but they'll get failure to rez each time they try to rez it and when they relog it's gone. Or they buy it in the store, it looks like it arrives in their inventory but when they tp away to another sim, it's suddenly gone.
Different permissions don't really matter in this case, as someone else pointed out in another thread, there's a problem with that sim's connection to the asset server and while it looks like it arrived, it never actually did as far as the asset server is concerned.
(I guess the only solution to this would be for sims to regularly check/test their connection with the asset server and automatically restart/shut down if the test fails?)
2) person buys something, it does actually make it into their inventory, but then they rez it at home, get "Failure to rez" and it never returns back to inventory
Probably a variant of the above. The sim the object was rezzed on has trouble talking to the asset server, the asset server removes the item from inventory but the sim never manages to rez it and the "return to inventory" message gets lost into a black hole?
Permissions can help in this case (although for a copy HUD with no-copy animations in it it still wouldn't do any good) since copy/no transfer would never vanish from inventory.
If items have to be no copy (or you just prefer selling no copy) maybe add a cautionary notecard that it's a good idea to always try and rez a copy item from inventory before placing any no copy items out? It can't be building a prim though, that will work even if the sim can't talk to the asset server.
1) applies to every kind of item whether it's clothes or furniture and NC/T or C/NT, 2) would only apply to NC/T items that need to be rezzed.
