I've searched it, found other posts, and tried their solutions. None work. In world, building on an island, uploading sounds to put into my new creation, I suddenly get "Ejected from the grid by an Admin". Upon trying to relog... What exactly does "Login Failed. Your account has been disabled. Please visit www.secondlife.com to renew your membership." mean? Why exactly did it happen to my main account I've put in about 10 support tickets (I stopped being premium a year ago, waste of money) under the correct Basic Account/Renew My Account category and still, haven't got a response for 2 weeks. Thank god I set up my business to run itself (pretty much), but sooner or later I'll need to log in... so Linden Labs... whatsup? You've deactivated support emailing except this little ticket system... which is annoying. I even tried to access the "My Account" page on the website... and get slapped with "We are unable to complete your request at this time. Please contact Second Life support for assistance at http://secondlife.com/support. If you are unable to change your password, please call (866) 476-9763." ... what I don't need a password changed! I need my account "renewed"! The least LL can do is respond to at least one of my support tickets one of these days (which is where the link up there led me) -.-, I really need to get back inworld and complete what needs to be done. I need an answer- this happen to anyone else, and if so, how does one go about solving the situation? If any lindens are around, might I get even a tiny little itsy bitsy clue as to why this happened? You've reached the end; thanks for taking some time to read this. Thx in advance for all helpful responses xD

I'd try calling the number you were given...just because it says 'password,' that doesn't mean they can't also help with your issue. Alternatively, this is shown on the main page of the Support Portal: From: someone If you have an issue with your account (non-technical, billing/password/etc), you can call our Billing team at: toll-free (US/Canada) 800-294-1067 or long-distance (not free) 703-286-6277. They're available 9AM - 6PM PST, Monday - Friday

Please do call the Billing phone number quoted by Ann. Although they have developed a reputation for being impossible to contact by phone, I've been hearing from a few people recently who got through on the first try.

Ain't that ironic. Seems LL just today got to me an email saying why my account was deactivated (because "Banned" is such a harsh word ). Good thing forums exist! And for those of you who care- this was the email message (copy and paste): THIS IS AN AUTOMATED RESPONSE, PLEASE DO NOT DIRECTLY REPLY TO THIS EMAIL. Please provide us with more information Comment(s): greetings, it appears that your avatar was in receipt of some potentially fraudulent L$'s. A sum of L$11K or so. Di you make a third party purchase on Ebay?? If so, we need any information pertaining to that transaction.(i.e. Auction ID #, and Seller ID, and or store. This information is critical to our investigation and to the release of your account. [Sounds Like They're Holding Me Hostage- Ransom Note Style] Very Best, Linden Lab ------------- The only way to get fake L is to... hack the system- by God my world is crumbling around me xD Alright folks, beware where you get you L from, I got mine from a "certified website"... beware... Thx for the suggestions thou

What do you mean by "certified website"? Is LL now releasing the identities of sites which use the Risk API?

If it wasn't eBay, I hope you responded and told them so.

Wow, was that the actual message they sent? It's worded and spelled badly enough that it just stinks of a phishing attempt. How did it suggest that you provide the requested information? It didn't provide a link to somewhere that required you to enter your password did it? Ugh, not nice to think about. Hope it was just a Linden with bad typing skills. Anyway, they are not referring to "fake" L$, but fraudulently obtained ones. Basically people either break into someone's account and buy lindens on the victim's account, or create an account and buy lindens with a stolen credit card number. Then they sell them on third-party like (but not limited to) eBay for cheap. They take your money and run, and LL traces the stolen lindens to you and repossesses them (and usually another 50% to punish you for receiving stolen goods). Based on the frequent discussions here on the forum, the only sites you can trust when purchasing lindens are the Lindex, SL Exchange, and Anshe Chung (although Anshe will give you a pretty bad exchange rate).

I think a lot of the people answering support tickets are not actually all that well trained, frankly. It may not be their fault, they may be rush-hired, rush-trained and then thrown at a mountain of tickets. In my case of getting a 13-year-old daughter into the Teen grid, I had gotten a lot of inaccurate and flat-out wrong information until I was lucky enough to get a "real" Linden to help.
That's par for a lot of support help out there in the world these days, unfortunately. It becomes a truly delightful experience those times you run into a real honest to goodness Customer Support department that *wants* to help -- and knows *how* to help. For the rest, its a quota of tickets to answer and stamp "resolved" (even when nothing is).
I hope this turns out well. Hopefully your case will get passed up to a supervisor who can handle it more professionally.

Automated response? That sounds WAY too specific to be an automated response.

I guess it is also amusing that you are told, first, "PLEASE DO NOT DIRECTLY REPLY TO THIS EMAIL."
Then, ordered to provide them with the answers to questions in that email.

Very weird. Could you keep us updated as to how this turns out?
That email seems off to me, maybe its just rushed.

All support ticket responses come with the 'THIS IS AN AUTOMATED RESPONSE, PLEASE DO NOT DIRECTLY REPLY TO THIS EMAIL' disclaimer...they want you to log into the Support Portal and answer there.

Or call them, which sometimes can result in faster responses. It's silly that LL didn't immediately email you about why they banned you. Actually, it's more than silly, it's downright irresponsible.
