G'day people. I'm been a resident for about 4 months. I have the basic account and I've avoided spending RL cash on SL, up till now. Decided I wanted a good quality skin, so I set up a PayPal account etc etc. From my reading we can buy $US10 worth of lindens a day. Got one lot yesterday and waited a full 24 hours for the next lot and now I'm being told my monthly limit is $US10 and that has been exceeded. Very confounding. So the question is does LindenLab limit purchases of Lindens to $US10 a month. (I can't understand why, if it's true, the limit would be so low. I suspect I've just found a bit of glitch in the system at the moment.) Bustin' out of me skin to get that skin.

You can purchase lindens safely from www.slexchange.com
Also, put in a request for higher limits. Submit a request every other day till they answer you. |

They suffered a bunch of CC fraud a month ago, it wouldn't suprise me if this is the case.

if this is the first time you've bought, you are just merely at the beginning of the time limit you have to be to purchase more.
go to the webbie site, get into your account page, and find the blue navigation bar to the left. scroll down about 3/4 and find the 'billing/trading limits' button. one of the boxes should be highlighted blue. that shows where you are on the purchasing/selling scale, and when you can expect it to increase. _____________________

Roger 3Ring B. Went there and on the Monthly limits table is says "0-1 days" $US10. That's the one that is highlighted. The explanatory note says that is the days since the last transaction. From that I assumed it means the monthly limit for me is $US10 each day. I suppose I can dig why they might have some patronising idea that $US10 a day is enough cash, but to make that the limit for a month seems ridiculous. Anyway, people, thanks for pitching on this. Will try another purchase tomorrow. |

As a new user the amount you can spend on L$ is limited.
This is to prevent somebody stealing a credit card and quickly making a Second Life account to launder money via L$. |

A really good way to jump start your trading limits is to buy a small amount of lindens early and leave it to increase naturally until you actually need to purchase them =)
Sadly, a lot of new users don't expect to run into the trading limits and wait to make their first L$ purchase for a big purchase and wind up short =( |

Day 0 to 2 you can purchase only 10US worth of L. day 2 to 13 it is 50 US worth of L, day 14 to 27 it is 150 US of L. Once you hit day 2 you will have the extra $40 that you can purchase. After 30 days your limit is 2500 US worth of L that you can buy. |

Don't quite understand the logic of a gradual increase, but how you explain it SK makes sense in the context of the trading limits table. Seems it comes down to a bit of sloppiness in how they explain the reason the next buy request was refused. Wish the buggers were as perfect as me! ![]() |

It stops terrorists from signing up, buying $10,000 worth of L$, going to their secret terrorist friend's Business In a Box Mall, and buying a Really Large Amount of Shoes, then quitting SL.
I think... _____________________
