Not sure what you mean by prim drift? Does your house actually change position on your lot? Sorry not to know this but it is a new term to me. I have seen trees change location over time though.

its a rounding error where prims drift in and out of place, the sl biuld tools only allow an accruacy of 3 decimals the system allows 7 and no matter what theres always a floating point error

its always been there (thats why seams magically appear no matter how much care you put into it) and it always will be

now for more clarification maby the op could put more detail on what "major" means

Best you can do is "lock" your builds when you're not working on them.

my door seems to move half way across the door opening every hour i cant keep it lined up at all i have used several different builds and several different door scripts still nothing seems to stay in place never had it this bad before with these buildings though maybe it has something to do with the private sim i am in.

If you can, you could put a copy of your door in a sandbox and check on it for a few hours and see if the same door behaves differently in different places.

One way to deal with some types of prim drift is to use a timer that sets the prim to it's proper place at appropriate intervals.

Are you a scripter at all? The thing to do is every time you click to open your door, have it check its current (correct) position and rotation with llGetPos and llGetRot, then open, then when the door closes have the script put it exactly where it was before with llSetPos and llSetRot. That, and don't link doors to the rest of the building.
