I know that I'm not the only one, lots of the people I know have the same problem. However, I cannot find anything about this issue.

Anyone heard anything about it? When will it be fixed?

It tends to happen when the server is fuller. I'm sure the Linden's are working on it but bug's like this may well be hard to fix as they are related to database loadings.

I tend to work around it by having groups where friends I often talk with also are in, then using the group to say hi and the replies tell me who's online :). Not perfect but a partial workaround.

Thank you for the suggestion, but nobody answered in my group... ofc, it could be that nobody was online, but that would be very odd.

I hope this gets fixed soon.

I just reboot. That usually works.

Happened to me last week, and a Linden said it tends to happen when the databases are stressed due to high numbers of people online...

When I sign in, I also bring up my account and Friends List from the web site (secondlife.com) just to make sure the list in the SL software is working right... the web's list always works.

yes, i rely on the web site too. even if my friends list looks like it's working sometimes it doesn't show all my friends who are online.
