Okay. I posted an early version of this questionnaire on SC forums the other day. Based on feedback and after taking with contacts, I need to ask the SL forum population. 1. What do you think is missing from Orientation, Help Island? 2. What resources do you wish you had when you first started? 3. Would you consider paying for (or donating to) online tutorials made in flash demonstrating in-world mechanics and things not really covered? 4.If you didn't want to go premium, how much would you pay for an easier start in SL, like with some spending money, clothes, access to personalized services, etc? Because having $0 at start in a economy based world kinda sucks. 5. Would you pay for help customizing your avatar and for someone to help you shop? If you knew they'd take you to good locations with reasonable prices? And the stuff I'm nervous about asking because people can misinterpret it: 6. If you knew that you'd never be lost and alone in SL, and always have someone there to help you, would you pay a monthly fee? 7. Would you like access to an online catalog, in-world store, and landmark db for handpicked items and stores? 8. Would you, the sellers of SL's creations and content, pay to have new users presented with your wares ahead of others, if either a monthly fee or commission basis, or some kind of sponsorship opportunity? Disclosure: I'm presently looking at starting a new service to take advantage of things I see as holes in the present experience and need to gather feedback before committing. I thank you for your time in this matter and hope you don't get offended by the idea of charging noobs, I'll do my best to keep things on the level, because this is world with saving.

1. What do you think is missing from Orientation, Help Island? Information about property ownership and land-owner's property rights. Explaining to new Players that most of SL is privately owned land, and if it doesn't look like a business that is selling things, or a public park, then it's probably someone's home, and walking in and treating it like a public space will annoy and anger a lot of residents who pay good money for their homes and land.
They need a clearer explanation that SL is NOT a shooting gallery - that unless you are specificly playing in a combat-approved area, most people do NOT like getting shot at, and it's as inappropriate to do so as it would be to walk through the center of a Real town and shoot people.
2. What resources do you wish you had when you first started? A better manual for how to use the building tools.
3. Would you consider paying for (or donating to) online tutorials made in flash demonstrating in-world mechanics and things not really covered? I probably would have, when I was newer.
4.If you didn't want to go premium, how much would you pay for an easier start in SL, like with some spending money, clothes, access to personalized services, etc? Because having $0 at start in a economy based world kinda sucks. I never have gone Premium, and never will, and before I started earning enough to be self-sufficient, I have no problems with buying L$ with my credit card.
5. Would you pay for help customizing your avatar and for someone to help you shop? If you knew they'd take you to good locations with reasonable prices? I've had people pay me for that sort of help. The market does exist for such services.
6. If you knew that you'd never be lost and alone in SL, and always have someone there to help you, would you pay a monthly fee? Again, I might have, early on, before I made a network of friends and learned my way around.
7. Would you like access to an online catalog, in-world store, and landmark db for handpicked items and stores? Probably not. I like shopping.
8. Would you, the sellers of SL's creations and content, pay to have new users presented with your wares ahead of others, if either a monthly fee or commission basis, or some kind of sponsorship opportunity? Possibly on a commission basis. I essentially do that with my texture sales, giving the store owner a cut of sales in exchange for better exposure. I have considered allowing others to sell my clothes and othe rthings in a store location that they maintain and advertise, where I would set up a JEVN vendor that splits sales profits with them.
